The food is wonderful and the staff are always friendly. We've been going here since they opened and have never had a bad experience. The servers have never been anything but professional with us. Don't go if you are in a hurry though! They make their sauces fresh and take their time. Go and enjoy the conversation and the meal. If you want Italian fast food this isn't your place. If you want good Italian food and to enjoy a dinner out, the Vineyards is the place.

Very, very good Italian food. Especially for this area. I'm from MA where Italian places are on every corner and this place would stand with the best of them. Wine selection could be better, but the wine prices are reasonable.

This restaurant is fantastic! My husband and I discovered it when some friends came in to visit from out of town. All 6 of us (plus a baby!) went here for dinner, and we were totally kicking ourselves for not having found this restaurant sooner! From outside, there's nothing that stands out about this restaurant. But as soon as you go inside, you're hit with the mouthwatering aroma of delicious Italian food. The garlic knots are delicious, the salad is fantastic, and the food is out of this world! (I personally recommend the Penne Siciliano -- it's our favorite!) We've always had good service, and we've always left completely stuffed and satisfied. Since that first visit, we've taken several other guests to this restaurant. Every single one of them has raved about the food. This is our new Italian restaurant of choice. Considering my husband IS Italian, I can assure you that's a designation this restaurant can be proud of!

Would not recommend anyone to dine in this place. I am an asian and I felt that the servers are extreme racists. They did not even give us our menus until we asked for them. They did not offer any garlic knot bread until we found out from the other table which was getting bread for the third time that they serve bread as a compliment. When we asked for it, that is when they went and got it for us saying it came out just then and that is the reason they did not serve it for us yet!!!Strange. none of them made any eye contact and did not check on us even once while we were eating our dinner. I would throw away my money instead of going to this place. The food did not taste good at all. Garlick knots with no garlic, half a cup vinegar on my one cup salad, pizzas not done properly... All my co-workers at work will know this for sure....

No more birthdays at the Vineyards. I apologize for how this reads. Google's reviews does not show paragraph breaks so it makes this look like a jumbled mess. I used to enjoy going to the Vineyards. I went on May 14, 2011 for my birthday dinner. The place was packed, the parking lot was jammed, so it was obviously a busy time. We had reservations and were seated at a table near the front at the side window. As I said, I used to enjoy going there for a specific kind of pasta served with a delicious spicy pink sauce. To my dismay, it no longer existed, (they did have seafood with a champagne pink sauce, but I don't eat seafood and this was not the same thing) so I had to scramble for something else. I wound up with the Veal Parmesean. Out came the garlic knots. Usually the reason for it's name is the strong garlic flavor it has. Well, it had none this time. My family being a bread family still ate it waiting for the food. The second basket came... still no flavor. I noticed the table in front of me receiving their meals... only to complain that a plate was not what they ordered. Not a problem. That happens from time to time but the waiter that took it back clearly looked annoyed. I don't know if it was with the table or with the kitchen, but it's not something the customer should see. The salad was good. Fresh, leafy greens with a few tomato chunks, a few olives, and a couple of pepperoncini. My brother and my mother received their dishes first, only to find out that they put the wrong sauce on my mother's. The waitress asked my mother if it was still okay. (Are you kidding me? Very different sauces and she has to be very careful with what she eats) She politely responded with a smile, "no", and back it went. Then there was the giant yellow Hummer truck that parked at the side window I was seated at. I gave an annoyed stare at the driver as what little view I had was now the side of a yellow beast/truck that was 3 feet away from me. It eclipsed the light at my table! She glanced back as if she owned the restaurant. Funny thing is, the actual owner of the restaurant wound up having a delightful conversation with them, so they apparently knew each other. Wonderful. Not every customer likes the feeling that they just sat down at a Sonic fast food restaurant as the view was all monster truck! My Veal Parm came out and I decided to wait for my mother's meal first before starting. To the Vineyard's credit, her dish was in front of her in less than 5 minutes. There was very little seasoning on the food. Salt and pepper was rolling around the table like it was the newest taste sensation. My veal was properly cooked, but generally uninteresting. I half expected it to be flattened as I see in many good italian restaurants, but did not see that here. Again, there was a bit of a let down that this was a very distant second choice, so that is both the restaurant and my fault. When we had finished, we decided not to have dessert as the meals simply weren't particularly tasty. While the ratings here on Google only give good or bad ratings, the bad ratings I have given are not at the worst of the scale, but clearly this was NOT a good night for them. I chose The Vineyards to be my Birthday dinner location as I had considered them to be one of the best area Italian restaurants. After last night, they're average at best. Next year will be somewhere else. Maybe Primo 116 in Suffolk, maybe even Luigi's north of Denbigh, but not The Vineyards.

I do not usually take the time to write reviews. I am normally very easy going and do not complain about food/restaurants/service. My experience was so unpleasant at the Vineyards that I felt compelled to write a review. Excuses: We did arrive during restaurant week, when it was very busy. Apparently, they were understaffed, and one of the two cooks hurt themselves while we were there (we found this out later). Also, their restaurant week menu was unusually long and complicated--instead of just a few things they can do well and fast. Experience: We made reservations days before, arrived 8 minutes late, and waited 30 minutes to sit . . . no huge deal. Then even though we were ready to order immediately, our appetizers didn't arrive for another 30 minutes. We told the waiter we were hungry, and were not offered any bread or anything to tide us over. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was tasty when it finally arrived, the caprese salad was nice, but the seafood pasta was very disappointing--the seafood was overcooked, chewy, and did not taste fresh. I think the tiny, fishy-tasting scallops were from an old freezer bag. I am a slow eater, so I do not usually notice if it takes a long time in between courses--but this was a super long delay, and the restaurant had been clearing out for some time. I suggested to the waiter that we order dessert before we finish our entrees (because I was done anyway, and I was hoping it would arrive before bedtime). He told me to finish eating first. He didn't mean to be rude, he just wanted us to do things his way. Inefficiently. Then about 10 or 20 minutes of waiting (not eating--just trying to get his attention) later, we told him we were ready for boxes, we would like to try the bread we noticed the other tables all got, and we'd really like to order dessert. He started to box the food for us, and I told him I would like to do that if he would just take our dessert orders. He said, "No, boxing the food is MY job." I answered, "Yes, but in this case I insist," and reached for the box. He pulled it away from me and said, "NO! I INSIST!" So we watched him box food for a few minutes. Instead of ordering dessert. When I finally got it, the tiramisu was just ok--but it tasted like it had cheap Hershey's syrup drizzled on it. Summary: This is not a well-oiled machine. It is not super professional. It seems like a nice, mom-and-pop Italian restaurant where you should be safe ordering fried mozzarella and spaghetti. If you don't order any fancy seafood, and you are not too hungry or in too much of a hurry, and you don't argue with the waiter--you should be fine.
