Chef's Table and Kensington Riverside Inn are profiled in Journey Memoirs, a travel blog documenting a couple's trip to Calgary to experience our exciting culinary scene.

"For breakfast choices, a great area is Kensington. Kensington is a hip part of town where local artists congregate, fair trade coffee shops like The Roasterie, have opened their doors and fine boutiques and shops welcome visitors. It’s the place to hang out for breakfast and one of the best spots is the Chef’s Table Restaurant at the Kensington Riverside Inn. The eggs Benedict were outstanding and the setting is beautiful, located right no the Bow River.

We stayed at the Kensington Riverside Inn and found it to be an excellent location. Cabs to downtown ranged from $11 to $13 and being in the heart of Kensington Village allowed us to not have to leave the area for dinner or breakfast if we chose to stay close to our hotel. There were dining choices a plenty, and a lot of dining we did!"…/

On March 19, over 1300 chefs in 5 continents will participate in Goût de France - a celebration of French gastronomy. Dinners served simultaneously in participating restaurants will honour the merits of French cuisine, its capacity for innovation, and its values: sharing, enjoying, and respecting the principles of high-quality, environmentally responsible cuisine.

Chef de Cuisine Michel Nop from Chef's Table at Kensington Riverside Inn will prepare a special 6-course dinner for Goût de France. Chef's Table is the only restaurant in Calgary and one of only eighteen in Canada who have developed a special menu in honour of French cuisine. Chef Nop's menu was reviewed and approved by some of the best French chefs in the world and we are thrilled to be chosen to celebrate this special day among thousands of restaurants that applied.

Join us on the eve of Spring as we celebrate French cuisine with some wonderful Canadian elements.

Vive la France et la cuisine francaise!

While the Calgary City Council debates funding public art during leaner economic times, it's always a worthwhile exercise to review some of the successes of different programs including the Poppy Plaza and related works on Memorial Drive celebrating Canada's war and peacekeeping efforts.
The Poppy Plaza is an inviting new public space located across the street from Kensington Riverside Inn.  Our guests frequently comment about how much they enjoy this space and the other monuments along Memorial Drive and the pathway system as they venture out to explore Calgary.
