I can't figure out the comments on this anymore!!!  What happened.  In response to your comment on my blog, I would LOVE to meet up with you if you come to Seattle.  And if you want my phone # etc., your daughter is welcome to contact me too.  I love young folks, and the seem to be attracted to me and my husband.

Hi Nonnie, I saw your block at the RSC and it looked so similar to mine that I thought I would click over to see exactly what you’re doing. It’s LOVELY!  I almost did a block like that too, but ended up doing wonky log cabins. I consider myself a modern quilter, but really I straddle the modern and traditional genres. Really don`t care for way-out modern. I have heard of Kathy Doughty - she is a quilting powerhouse. Her book is on my Amazon wish list, so I`m crossing my fingers about your giveaway!  :-)  I am going to follow your blog, and BTW, I am LDS too.
With the end of January nearing, I got my block done this week. I have been looking forward to doing this quilt for almost a year! Last year, I saw this block someone else was making for RSC14. Immediately I knew that this is what I wanted for RSC15.

Finish-it-Up Friday - and TGIF
TGIF - in this case it has a dual meaning.  Not only Thank God It`s Friday, but also Thank God It’s Finished. Being retired, my schedule does not include an outside-the-home job. However, I do have a very busy Etsy shop, plus it’s tax season (meaning I had ...

Rearranging Colors. And Priorities.

Blue Saturday
I`ve been doing some work with my fabric scraps, focusing on blue this month (not light, light blues or green-blues, or dark/navy blues; just blue blues) with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. Eight scrappy log cabins with black/white prints for contrast. Each o...
Eight scrappy log cabins with black/white prints for contrast. Each of the blocks finish at 8.5 inches, so four will finish into a 16x16 inch block. I have lots more blue so I may do four more of the 8.5's so I can have three big blue ones. And then I will do a few of these with each color of ...

Hi Viv, I’m glad Eddie is in a more peaceful and beautiful setting. And I can see why this hexie is his favorite. It is gorgeous, lush, varied and happy - much like his life with you has been.  Wishing you both happiness in the New Year. It would be lovely to get Eddie`s pain under control, and to that end I send up wishes.  Hugs, Cathy
Yesterday I sat with my husband Eddie in Kalamunda Hospital and finished the edging on Hexagon number 25.  He had been transferred to Kalamunda Palliative Care Hospital and Hospice earlier in the day from Royal Perth Hospital...
