My Tiger My Timing are brother and sister Anna Vincent (vocals) and James Vincent (guitar, bass), Jamie Harrison (guitar, bass), Seb Underhill (keys) and Gary Drain (drums), and formed in London in 2008.
They have been described by The Guardian as “deliciously upbeat and groove-laden post-punk” and by Clash as “alternative pop with a dark heart that’s bursting with desire”, and were recently named Beck’s European Newcomer 2010, CMJ’s Spotlight Artist and NME’s Breakthrough Artist of the Week.
The band have released an EP and three singles - This Is Not The Fire, I Am The Sound and Endless Summer - with material produced by New Young Pony Club and Hot Chip and featured on samplers from Kitsuné, Pure Groove and Modular Records.
Inspired by rainy grey holidays spent in the city, wishing back to the never-ending sunshine of the past, the band’s third single Endless Summer - released through their own Snakes & Ladders Records on August 1st - combines irresistible schoolyard singsong with hypnotic drums, shimmering electronics and angular guitars, to create a perfect slice of modern leftfield pop, which has already been playlisted on BBC 6 Music and XFM and hit #1 on the Hype Machine Chart. They are currently finishing their debut album.
The band played the John Peel Stage at this summer’s Glastonbury, with other live highlights including slots on the BBC Introducing stage at Radio 1′s Big Weekend, at the Isle of Wight and V Festival and supporting Phoenix and The Ting Tings in Germany. They tour the UK and Europe this autumn.
“Deliciously upbeat and groove-laden post-punk" The Guardian “Tribal electro like a south London Gang Gang Dance” NME “Alternative pop with a dark heart that’s bursting with desire” Clash “Shimmery post-punk...beautifully composed” Drowned In Sound “On the verge of blowing up in both the UK and abroad” CMJ
