The US champion, already a winner this season as he challenges the world stars on strange tracks, had shown his determination and ability to learn quickly when he led qualification for two laps in a hotly-disputed race around a hard-pack track littered with tiny stones, the like of which he had never previously encountered.
Race two saw him hold third place for nine of the nineteen laps before he lost control of his bike on the bumpy straight in front of pit lane and crashed heavily.

Ryan Villopoto crash at 2015 Motocross GP of Trentino. It appears initially that he might be shaken but otherwise ok.
After 4 GP's Villopoto probably realized that the Euro's no slouches either. In particular not the consistent top 10 runners.
But in general, he's not doing that bad - US American fans are just spoiled and like to cultivate that US vs Euro or rest the world auro that actually not exist except with a few bonehead motoooligans. It's sport, darn... :)

MX GP - It was a difficult day for Red Bull athlete Tony Cairoli, especially after his DNF in the opening moto, as he is a rider who is normally very much at home at this circuit. He finished eleventh in the second race to hold onto his third position in the points but was hampered by a problem with his wrist.
Results MXGP Valkenswaard
1. Gautier Paulin (FRA), Honda (1-1)
2. Maximilian Nagl (GER), Husqvarna (2-2)
3. Clement Desalle (BEL), Suzuki (4-3)
4. Evgeny Bobryshev (RUS), Honda (3-4)
5. Shaun Simpson (GBR), KTM (5-6)

MX2
Jeffrey Herlings, a Red Bull athlete, rode a near faultless first race, and while he had to concede the holeshot to Alexandr Tonkov he was in front several corners later and had a three-second lead at the end of the first lap. He then continuously built on his advantage and crossed the line 42-seconds in front. The team’s MX2 rookie Pauls Jonass also had a great start in the opening moto but went down very hard on the gnarly track in the second lap and had to retire.
Results MX2 Valkenswaard
1. Jeffrey Herlings (NED), KTM (1-1)
2. Jordi Tixier (FRA), Kawasaki (3-3)
3. Aleksandr Tonkov (RUS), Husqvarna (5-2)
4. Brian Bogers (NED), KTM (6-5)
5. Valentin Guillod (SUI), Yamaha (11-4)

Ryan Dungey took the win at the 15th round of the AMA Supercross Series held at Levi Stadium. Dungey got out 3rd at the start. Dungey quickly challenged for the lead position and was able to take over the position by the third lap of the race. Once out front, he never looked back, and continued to turn fast times to increase his gap on the field throughout the remaining laps. When the checkered flag flew, he took the win by an impressive 4 seconds over the rest of the pack.
“I really enjoyed wrapping up the championship last weekend, but I came into this race wanting to continue to win the remainder of the races,” stated Dungey.
