I'm at NSTA in Chicago. There have been quite a few teachers visiting Biome4Kids. I realized I have to do something to make getting an avatar easier. So I made "Magical Invisible Eyes" to put on first. Then you can just put on the avatar folder. There's ins...

Anyone on Opensim grids have the problem where you can't see a particular  island on a grid or teleport there but others can? Two if us have had the problem and it's just weird. I'm the owner of the grid and my alt could get to the island but couldn't teleport my "real" avatar there. When I stood on the neighboring island all I saw was water yet other avatars were on that island. Either it's a very weird glitch or Virtual World Twilight Zone.

Biome4Kids is a virtual world for kids which I operate from a server on the NMU campus. It has places to build, meet other kids (global), play and learn science either in a classroom setting with a teacher or on their own time - after school or home schooled. The content is standards-based and way more fun than a textbook (so the kids say). We are going to have a week long summer camp in July as well. Only verified children and teachers (preservice and practicing) can access anything but the welcome area - it's the best security I can offer (much better than most online games). I control access to the areas where children interact. If you are a teacher and want to explore or bring your students in or if you have kids who want to explore there is more information on http://biome4kids.blogspot.com.
