Hard, rubbery shrimp and scallops. I ordered the Shang Hai Shrimp, Salmon & Sea Scallops and all three were crazy overcooked...rubbery and so hard I couldn't bite through them. While the flavor of the sauce was ok, for the first time in my life I asked for the dish to be kindly sent back and recooked. They said that that is how their food is cooked and I could order another dish if I didn't like it. The staff acted like it was my fault that I didn't like my meal and offered no explanation, apology or discount of any kind. For $25.99 I would have expected a reasonable level of food quality, but honestly it was worse than you get at a cheap fast food joint.

The food was 'ok', unfortunately the service was poor. We stopped in for an early lunch and were only one table of maybe 6-7 tables taken, so they were not busy. We waited a very long time between courses and between drinks, we had to request silverware and napkins. We would have enjoyed it more if the service would have been good. It was myself and my 2 kids, tab was $95, so we really were disappointed that we walked away dissatisfied.

Great gluten free menu. My shrimp and scallops were perfect. There were 7 of us. Service was great. View was relaxing.

Today Grilled Scallops were cooked to perfection. Hubby's Blackened Salmon was outstanding! Mashed potatoes and veggies were fantastic. Every cocktail I've ever had is deelish! Haven't had a bad experience to date!❤️

The restaraunt was very nice and the selections on the menu looked great. However I truly can get better service at McDonalds. We only ordered beverages and in the process of deciding on our order we received horrible service. Our waiter never smiled, was not polite or welcoming. We asked another waiter a question about the menu and in a smug attitude he said our waiter can help us. I asked him again and he again got an attitude. So we decided this restaraunt was not worth our time or money. While leaving, the manager approached us to "try" to help us. While telling him about our experience he showed no genuine signs of concern, never offers another table, waiter or comps for our experience. He nodded his head and let us walk out the door. I highly recommend you don't waste your time at this excuse for a restaraunt. Our family trip to Newport aquarium was ruined by our regretful visit to the Fish Market

I paid $19 for blackened tilapia, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables. The fish was simply OK. The mixed vegetables tasted bland and half-cooked. The mashed potatoes were mediocre. However, the service was nice and the atmosphere pleasant. The type of place you think would make a good first date place, if it wasn't for the mediocre food. I should add that my lunch mate seemed to enjoy his entre (steak & lobster tail ~$30). I was really looking forward to this place, as I had heard and read great things. However, after eating there, my opinion is that it is overrated. I would not go back. If looking for a similar place to dine, I would instead recommend Bonefish Grill.

I don't like to give out many 5 star ratings, as it takes a lot for me to call a place perfect. That said, Mitchell's is extraordinary in a city full of good places to eat. Amazing seafood this far from the coast is hard to come by, but they get it right. The service from Justin was perfect. Honestly, if more places trained their waitstaff to be this good they would never have a problem getting returning customers. His timing was great as was his explanations of specials, the wine menu, and desserts. As far as pricing, yes, it's high. Expect to pay for this great food and service. But, compared to what the Cincinnati area normally offers in upscale dining, Mitchell's is well worth the price. For 3 people, we had a round of drinks, an appetizer (shared), an entree each, and a dessert (shared). Our total was $131.00, excluding the tip. Not bad for a nice night out on the Levee! Yeah, we'll be going back!
