So with Stagefright on Android and and YiSpecter on iOS... maybe one should look toward ... Windows Phone?  Yikes!

Tried this out and it's pretty neat...so neat, in fact, that it has supplanted Google as the Home long-press shortcut.

By default, there's a persistent Bing button that shows up in the lower right side of the screen (actually, an arc segment of the button, as it's mostly off screen).  It's still a distraction, but fortunately can be disabled.

Pro tip:  it's possible to swipe up from the Home button to activate instead of long-pressing Home.
Microsoft has pre-empted a new feature Google plans to include in the next version of Android with an update released Thursday for the Bing Search app that lets users get information about what they're looking at by pressing and holding down their device's home button.

Ding ding ding... take the key out of ignition!

Anyway, I see this thing causing more deaths than preventing them. Can't wait for news of a parent causing deaths by leaving the car with the ignition on, because they write afraid that the I'm-a-sleep-deprived-and-totally-careless-parent-alarm would wake the baby.

What's more likely, a sleep-deprived parent forgetting to engage the brake or forgetting their precious baby is in the back?

I agree with Heather and Francesco, very good! A very nice job with the blurred background.

Yeah, I'm in the Northern Virginia portion of the DC Metro Area.  National Harbor's on the other side of the Capitol Beltway from me, but since it's right off and clearly visible from the Wilson Bridge (I-495 / I-95 crossing the Potomac River), I see it on a fairly regular basis.

Another on-the-way-to-work image that's ending up in my #WPP2015.  Not exactly a mirror image of each other, though.

Some actually useful tips that I didn't know of in the link...

Recover text from any file (think 'strings' utility)
Move / Copy without clobbering the Clipboard
Spike (a cumulative cut & paste)

Do you think we would have finished with the Games of Thrones fantasy series if George R.R Martin had ditched his archaic WordStar 4.0? And took up Microsoft Word instead? This is a just a flight of imagination because we associate productivity with the common tools we use daily. There are far better tools for authors than Microsoft Word. Scrivener…

Having trouble deciding who was more idiotic: Lenovo with its Superfish or Samsung with its windows-update killer.

BTW, anyone know how widespread the Samsung problem is?

If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing: a huge window-wall of the atrium at the Gaylord National in Washington D.C.  It provides an expansive view of the Potomac River outside; the reflections show the balconies of guest rooms inside.

First time doing a long exposure blue hour photo.  View from National Harbor with the Woodrow Wilson "Woodie" Bridge in the background.
