Nice. Makes me want to wrap up in a blanket and read a book, doze. Nice lazy afternoon.

An example of butterfly puddling, where butterflies congregate around a drying up puddle to take in the left over minerals.

This bird attacked our window for hours at a time for many days in succession. I guess he thought his reflection was a competitor.

Retired computer programmer in Mills River, NC
Introduction
Retired computer programmer. More info about that at http://mrquietguy.com/tom.htm (My primary online persona is MrQuietGuy).

I am a vegetarian (but not vegan), not so much due to philosophical or health reasons, but simply because I don't like the idea of eating dead animal parts (or live ones either for that matter [insert sardonic laugh]). I do nevertheless take an interest in Eastern religions and I believe in reincarnation. At the same time, I also call myself a Christian, and I believe the two don't need to be mutually exclusive.

I'm interested in photography as a sometimes weekend photographer. Although I'm technically inclined, I'm not an artist, so I concentrate mainly on the technical aspects of photography. I use Photoshop to process most of my photos -- sometimes a little and sometimes a lot. I feel that a photo that's good enough to share deserves the effort of making it as good as my abilities allow.

My camera is not a dSLR. I use a prosumer Panasonic Lumix FZ30 camera, which is now outdated, but still serves me well.

Another interest I have had (but no longer engage in) is the design and hosting of web sites. As I get older, I find that field is moving too fast for me to keep up with.

I'm a gadget freak and have just about every gadget imaginable. My cell phone is an Android Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and I also have an HP Touchpad loaded with Android 4.

For my own amusement, in addition to the above, I dabble at the piano and organ.

This is to confirm that this place is closed. For several months now there was a sign in the window stating that they are closed for remodeling. Looking through the window, I could never see any sign of remodeling, and the interior was filled with tables and chairs as normal. Yesterday (January 10, 2012) I stopped by again to check and now there is a large sign on the window that says AVAILABLE. The tables and chairs are still there. Also, this location has been removed from the Atlanta Bread website. Who knows what will happen to this building.

We ate here once a few years ago and weren't impressed. Now, after a few name changes and ownership changes we decided to try again. WOW! We were really impressed at this now outstanding eatery. To start with, the decor is a light and airy 50s motif, and very clean. Although they were quite busy during our visit, the wait staff and food were excellent, and our food was served in a reasonable time. The food (home fries, for example) was not greasy at all, as it is at so many places. We will definitely be back here many times.
