Pressure Tech awarded 98% in recent Supplier Audit by Michell Instruments Pressure Tech Ltd are delighted to announce that Michell Instruments Ltd, a key customer, has awarded us 98% in a recent Supplier Audit, stating that "the audit results exceed the expectations of Michell Instruments Ltd".

Pressure Tech welcomed Andy Fox and Tracie Dawson from Michell to our factory on Wednesday 27th July, 2016. As a long-term supplier to Michell Instruments, we were pleased to show them our manufacturing facilities, quality procedures and corporate governance.

The purpose of the supplier audit was to ensure that:
1) Pressure Tech has the fundamental ability to provide the required service to Michell Instruments, from a technical and commercial perspective.
2) Pressure Tech has the appropriate level of understanding and commitment to meet the applicable regulatory and legislative requirements when trading with Michell Instruments.
3) Michell Instruments and Pressure Tech share similar views in areas such as corporate and social responsibilities, quality, supply chain management and risk management.
4) A thorough review of Pressure Tech’s Quality Management System (QMS).

A particular area of interest to Andy and Tracie concerned our new ISO Class 8 Clean Room and Oxygen Cleaning Service, which provides certified cleaning of components to ASTM G93 level C. We use this facility internally during manufacturing to customer requirements and offer this service on a sub-contract basis, including an oxygen cleaned certificate.

"It is Michell Instruments Ltd., professional opinion that products and services supplied by Pressure Tech Ltd., are of a very high quality, and the management and control of systems and processes are carried out to a very high standard." Andy Fox—Technical Purchasing Controller, Michell Instruments.

Michell reviewed our QMS, which is certified to ISO9001:2008 by DNV GL and also against ATEX Directive, and the additional requirements of EN ISO/IEC 80079-34 by CSA Sira. Michell were pleased to know that our range of electrically heated regulators are certified to the latest technical standards. Andy was especially interested in our Annual Management Review, describing it as ‘impressive’, further commenting generally that ‘Pressure Tech sets the benchmark for supplier standards’. Pressure Tech are working towards certification to ISO9001:2015 by June 2018 .
We are delighted with such positive feedback from Michell Instruments. Pressure Tech is a customer-centric business; we are proud of our facilities; and work hard to support our customers, suppliers and employees, to ensure successful growth for all. We can only achieve this through the excellent recommendations of our customers.

Andy commented on the Michell Supplier Audit Report "It has the highest score of any company I have visited; you should all be very proud of what you have achieved, and we look forward to working with you for a long time ".

Soclema visits Pressure Tech Last week, Pressure Tech welcomed Soclema, a French customer specialising in sampling, to our Derbyshire Factory. Our visitors arrived just in time for the Manchester City versus Paris Saint Germain football game, enjoyed the match and took home a souvenir of their visit (see pic)!

However, the visit wasn’t just about football, but to assess our unique ACS-300 auto changeover regulator to ensure it meets the exacting standards of Soclema's customers, suppliers to French energy companies. Soclema's customers had previously experienced problems with other regulators and were looking for a 100% reliable regulator.

Established in 1992, in the South of France, Soclema's speciality is sampling, providing the best technical solutions for gas and liquid sampling systems in the industry.

Soclema’s gas analyser system, testing the quality of gas in a reservoir — ultimately to be sent to offices and homes in France, required auto-changeover between two helium cylinders. As the helium is used and pressure decreases from one cylinder to a certain level, the regulator is required to auto changeover to the new cylinder to allow constant supply of helium at the correct pressure.

Soclema were keen to understand the features of Pressure Tech’s product and how it would solve their problems, having previously invested in other regulators that were unable to facilitate a double changeover. The visit provided Soclema with a detailed understanding of the ACS-300 and how we test to prove no leaks. The meetings held allowed us to demontrate our innovative designs and customer responsiveness, holding in depth discussions regarding design and functionality and providing re-assurance that this new regulator would overcome any issues Soclema had experienced with their previously used product.

Soclema selected Pressure Tech to supply the ACS-300 for their system as a result of two main factors:

1) Helium is expensive and systems used by the end user in the past have been prone to leaks. In order to keep costs to a minimum, investment into a 100% leak tight, reliable product is required.

2) In addition to reliability, Soclema were intrigued by the unique functionality of Pressure Tech’s ACS-300 regulator, which unlike the competition allows both cylinders to be used as the principle supply at any one time, rather than one cylinder being a designated "reserve" bottle.

A successful visit, incorporating some additional training, ensured that Soclema returned to France fully up to speed with Pressure Tech’s products and two more Manchester City Fans!

Pressure Tech's Summer BBQ Pressure Tech colleagues celebrated the summer in style - a bbq in the rain!

During July, the team gathered together to enjoy Steve's outdoor cooking. The typical British Summer didn't deter us from having a well deserved celebration of our achievements so far this year. Everyone enjoyed the copious amount of burgers, sausages and Subah's fabulous Afghan rice!

A great team building event, which we hope to repeat if the sun ever comes out again!
