Working today on the prototype of a binaural composition related to the flood of the river and the use of seashell horns to alert the community...

It is so cool to see the emergence of the binaural forest app from Fritz Mentzer and it triggers me a lot of creative ideas!

Working today on a new #binaural sound composition with VirtualRoom AU, a draft composition paired with our open source locative storytelling editor CGeomap. The story is based on the use of ancient seashells horns to alert people from the arrival of water flood. It resonates nicely with Fritz Menzer alphorn's story :)

INTERESTING BINAURAL CREATIONS - A binaural historical 3D audio tour at the Abbaye aux Dames called "MUSICAVENTURE".
"The central voice of the narrative is music itself. Personified, it takes shape, becomes a romantic character, and, speaking in the first person, draws the visitor into an epic. An imaginary sound environment is created around the visitor. The Abbey's magnificent setting is full of music, the music tells its story, evokes and brings to life those who have embodied it (composers, musicians, historical figures, festival personalities, Saintais ...)."

This video artwork from Polak and VanBekkum is explaining how blind people can see the world with their ears. No doubts we can improve greatly our senses in an amazing way and binaural sounds can help us to train our ears.

The inspiring website greattransitionalstories.org leaded by the visionary Duane Elgin is proposing a very important classification of transformative stories like Planetary birth, integrating indigenous wisdom and reconnecting with the Living Universe (beyond others)

CREATIVE IDEA - I could listen to Fritz Menzer's experimental spatialization of an alphorn's audio recording. Alphorn are beautiful instruments from the Alps.I was delighted to discover that this instrument was created to call the herd of cows! It makes me think that we can use binaural experiences to "call the landscape", taking shape by the sounds we emit. Then we could have like a panel of animals calls, instruments and natural sounds and build the landscape we are creating by our calls.

INTERESTING BINAURAL CREATIONS - Ear Ball for empathy by Taisuke Murakami. What's going on when you share with someone else the direct sound you are listening from your body ? it's an exercise of empathy by listening from the ears of the other, a nice experiment !

STORYTELLING RESOURCES - Storytelling for a Greener World is another powerful book for the elaboration of transformative stories wth binaural techniques. One of the most important points with binaural sounds is that the listener is in the middle of the action and the scenery can be inside and outside the head in a narrative play. Like VR, we can break the distance between the story and the listener and make him or her part of the experience. We are part of the Earth and the Universe, we are not disconnected beings watching the movie of life at distance. That's a great reason why it is interesting to build binaural transformative stories.

STORYTELLING RESOURCES - When i was at the Holistic science Schumacher College during Summer 2016, a guy recommended to me this marvellous book from Ashley Ramsden and Sue Hollingsworth called "the storyteller's way". In this book we find great techniques to learn how to create stories with bones and flesh. A part of the exercice is related to our ability to imagine and project the landscape of our story around us and for the audience. This locative dimension for the elaboration of stories is very interesting for binaural sounds. When we imagine a binaural story we need to project also the soundscape and its dynamic. This book is expanded through several courses they are giving at the @schoolofstorytelling in England , here is the link: https://goo.gl/Vqeo9y
