John Riley III
My name is John Riley and before I enrolled my kids and myself ad SBG in Wareham MA, I had stopped in and looked into them the year before we started going. From the start I got the vibe that I was in the write place that I wanted my kids to learn BJJ and myself. When you walk in the door you are greeted by someone on the staff that is up beat, positive and wants to help answer any questions you have. As they take you on the tour of their facility they share with you the background and history of SBG along with the experience of the staff working there. Their kids program and curriculum is what interested me the most. Their approach is much more than just teaching about BJJ, but about teaching kids how to be good rounded people and respectful of others. Hearing that they give the kids homework that focuses on being good at home and in school was something I was not expecting. When the time was right to sign my kids up I knew exactly where I wanted to take them. From the time I signed my kids up in March of 2015 until now the transformation has been amazing. My daughter who is 6 and used to very shy has turned into someone that has become confident and outgoing. She loved SBG so much that she quite her favorite sport gymnastic to focus on BJJ. The transformation has been awesome to watch. My son who is 5 that was very active and had hard time focusing morphed into a kid that would follow direction, and listen when being told to do something. My own experience was just as great at SBG. Having a wrestling background made me want to learn BJJ even more. The problem I had was my job had me traveling a lot, and at different times in the week which made it hard to attend classes. They proactively reached out to me and asked if I wanted to take some private lessons to help me get up to speed when I missed classes from traveling. Being able to take private classes that fit my schedule really showed me they wanted to help me grow in the sport of BJJ. This approach solidified in my mind how professional, and how well they run their program at SBG East Cost. We recently had to move from MA to FL and leave the SBG family, but they set a great foundation for my kids, and myself on the type of program we want to be apart of when we find another place to join in FL. I want to thank Jeff Perez for leading such a great team of coaches that made my families experience a great one! A special thanks to Coach Chad, Coach Tiff and Coach Mike you guys are great at what you do so keep doing it!! :) We will always be faithful to the SBG family that got us started! Semper FI! JRiley

My wife has participated in seminars and classes at SBG east coast. She has also taken private Jiu Jitsu lessons. The staff has been welcoming and knowledgeable. She always enjoys training there. I probably should add that she is in her 60's, not the typical age for Martial Arts training.

My name is Anick Bernier. I have been training at Nexus Martial Arts since February 2012. I moved from Canada and my husband figured I needed to do physical activity while studying to take the National Physical Therapy examination. The first day I jumped on the mats, everyone was very friendly to me. After a few weeks I began to think about competing, which I did in May 2012, and everyone help me getting to 110%. The staff is very nice, attentive and truely care about helping us reaching their goal. I can say today that I consider everyone at this gym like my extended family and would strongly suggest anyone that lives in Wareham area to go check this gym out. It will definitly change your life. One tribe, one vibe !

I have been training at Nexus Martial Arts & Fitness in Wareham for over a year now and I absolutely love it! I initially joined for self defense reasons, but I quickly fell in love with both Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The atmosphere of Nexus is incredible; everyone is really nice, and very helpful. If you are looking for a gym that has positive attitude and surrounds itself with positive people then I suggest you give Nexus a try. All of the coaches are extremely supportive, and if you have a question about something then they will take the time to explain it until you understand. You do not have to feel like you are being thrown into the wolves if you are just starting out, they have a variety of classes. So if you are looking to do either Muay Thai or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu I definitely recommend going to Nexus Martial Arts and Fitness and giving it a try !

I've trained at numerous gyms across the country and have never been to anouther gym that has the same atmosphere as SBG east coast. Expertly trained and down to earth instructors mixed with inviting and ego free team mates make for a very rewarding training environment. The instructors invite individualism with their students as well as show extremely effect and partical technices to help foster well rounded and dynamic grapplers/strikers. If you want to train in BJJ, Muay Thai, MMA, or get in better shape with one of the work out programs there is no better place to go in the area then SBG East Coast.

Let me start by saying this place is the great. I started with Nexus about a year and a half ago and love every second I am there. The coaches are knowledgeable and will not hesitate to answer any questions I may have. The training environment and vibe in the gym is filled with encouragement and positive attitudes. My training partners, some of which are my coaches, are the best. They work with me and take time out of their training to drill something that I am working on or help me work through a problem I may be having. The schedule is abundant and allows anyone to fit training into their schedule. The facility has plenty of room and most important it is CLEAN!!!! I can't say enough positive things about Nexus. If you have been thinking about checking it or, or joining, please don't miss out on a great place to train.

I was introduced to Nexus Martial Arts and Fitness through some friends that I trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with. My 4 year old son expressed interest in training as well but the gym my wife and I attended in another city did not offer a program for children. I brought my son in to check the place out and was immediately impressed with the professionalism and cleanliness of the place. I signed my child up right away. Throughout his time there I would watch his classes. I, having trained as well could tell right away the quality of instruction my son was receiving. Not only does my son learn a martial art and form of self defense, the school really focuses on life skills that are important to these youngsters. Discipline, respect, confidence, etc. They even have seminars on how our children can deal with bullies as safely as possible. After a little time had passed my wife and I decided to join as well. Best decision ever. I have met some of the best people I've ever met and my wife's and my training has reached another level. Now all 3 of our kids train there as well. The environment is friendly and helpful no matter what skill level you're at. You can be a beginner or a veteran, either way, you're still part of a class act team. If you're considering joining a gym to get in shape, learn self defense, fight in a cage, whatever.. Do it, check out Nexus, they even give you a trial membership to see if you like it or not. Nothing to lose, a lot to gain.

We just love Nexus gym! My 14 year old son started in June during a promotional period for the summer. After the numerous free classes, we already knew that my son was going to be a long time member. The staff is very professional but also personable which makes us feel very comfortable. Coach Steve always takes time to give me updates about my son's progression. The facility/gym is always clean and has all of the state of the art equipment. We couldn't be happier anywhere else!
