Refined landmark with traditionally elegant rooms (some with lakefront views) & high tea service.- Google
"After a decades absence at the famed Holiday Tea time had shown the effect."
"Lovely check in/reception area and that was it."

Love this hotel. So much history and class. Rooms are extremely Clean. They, like most Hiltons (not Conrads or Waldorfs), don't upgrade Diamond members much. Just got a floor higher with no view (well of a brick wall). They also don't utilize the HHonors checkin counter. I had to wait with everyone else to check-in/out.

Staying in an executive suite, I found the room to be spacious with great views of the water. I had the staff put an extra table in and they were quick. The staff is friendly. My only complaint is the slowness of the Internet

Rooms are old. Location great with views of the lake, service very good had a room mess up and they gave us 60 bucks in bar money and upgrade to executive room.

Stayed here for an extended weekend for a wedding and you could not ask for a The Drake Hotel. Location is great - right by the zoo and a 10 minute walk to their beach area for those staying here during the spring/summer. No problems with the free wifi, very clean - great helpful staff - and the cafe on the bottom floor serves la Colombo coffee - can't ask for anything more.

Unpleasant stay. The room was nice. The place was a little smelly, but expected for an older place. Problem was that I didn't sleep until 3am and at 5:20am, the stupid fan broke and there was a loud rattling noise. I got up only after 20 minutes of trying to sleep through it and not knowing what it was, it took me a few seconds to think about turning off the thermostat. It was extremely difficult to get back to sleep after that. In the morning, the desk gave me 20% back. For a $400 room, 320 is still a lot to pay for very little sleep.

Everyone should stay at the Drake at some point in Chicago! The staff are very friendly, the accommodations are luxurious and the food was great as well. I would recommend the Drake no questions asked.

Charm, history, incredible staff, rooms need a refresh however. Staying there did give a sense of being part of "Real Chicago" as they say...

Great location. Stayed here for three nights and it was very nice. The room was clean, modern and surprisingly roomy. Walking distance to Chinatown. Just over a mile to White Sox field. This area of the South Loop is under redevelopment so it looks a little empty but we walked the entire area within one mile radius and found great local food. Short walk to the train through Chinatown. I rented a car from Midway and ended up only putting on a total of 32 miles in 3 days. Almost not worth renting a car. The front desk is very helpful and friendly. This is going to be my regular stop from now on.
