This review saddens me, since this situation required several calls and discussions with the customer and many options were offered. The high quote mentioned included all possible solutions added together, not the quote for one specific solution, since this was not an easy situation to troubleshoot and some of the solutions would entail a lot of labor. There were many possible problems and solutions, and there is no way we would ever charge such a high amount for labor like that, so this review is quite unrepresentative of what we charge or the service we provide.
It did not take us four days to get him a quote; the situation occurred over a weekend, and my tech wanted me to weigh in on possible solutions in order to save the customer unnecessary expenses so we spent a great deal of time with this customer looking into the possible solutions. We even suggested ways the customer could lower the costs by trying something himself first.
It’s true that we didn’t have one specific part on the truck that was part of a possible solution, but this is an item that we need maybe once a year, not on a regular basis, even with the large volume of business we do.
We refunded the customer and no work was done, but the customer did indeed get a lot of our time, attention and suggestions of possible solutions at no cost.
