Task 3 - Connect or engage with a community.

In her series of work, photo opportunities, Swiss/French artist Corinne Vionnet uses thousands of people's tourist photographs from Flickr and merges each one of a landmark into one final piece. The community engaged in her work is not a physical one but an online one.

Task Two - New narrative: Family archive

Due to a flood that occurred in my house last year all of the family photograph albums and ones stored on the computer where lost and not salvageable. These photographs are of my family gathering earlier in the summer to celebrate my cousins engagement.

Task One - Journey to uni.

My journey to uni is usually rushed due to rubbish time management and liking my bed too much to get out of it. Because I'm always in a rush my journey to uni is a blur and I don't really pay attention to my surroundings always looking down at my phone on social media.

The looking down at my feet represents my permanent gaze down at my phone during the journey. The left foot always forward being the same in each image represents the same journey and path I take to uni each day and how it starts and ends with a left turn. The blur of the photo represents the blur that my journey to uni is. All the photos where taken on my phone at the height and rough place of where I usually hold and look at it when walking.

Task 4:

I don't mind too much going up to a stranger and asking them things to a point, one thing I wouldn't ask them however is too take a picture of them which made this task a bit difficult.

I was out one night skateboarding as I couldn't sleep and bumped into a homeless woman called Donna. She did the typical of asking me if I had any loose change. Before I gave her anything I started a conversation with her asking about her life and her past life and she responded asking me about my life, what I was doing and where i am from. She told me about her being a qualified nurse after going to uni, how much of this is true is unknown but that could be said about what any stranger tells you no matter what situation they are in. I spoke to her for about 10 minutes or so with her being nothing but pleasent. Wether she was just being pleasent to get money or not I do not know but it did seem like she was genuinely a nice human to me.

I usually do not give homeless people straight up money asking them in response to them asking me for money if they would like a drink or something to eat that way I know what the money is spent on.

She was concious of her looks so i took this photo as I and Donna walked our seperate ways using the camera on my phone and a slow shutter speed to keep her looks hidden which she wanted being concious of them telling me that people wont really want to look at a person like her as she is not nice looking.I also took it like the way I did to show visually what most people do when they just walk past these type of people and they become nothing more then a blur to them. (Im not trying to come across here as a all round great guy. There have been times admittidly when I have walked past these types of people not giving them a second look, but after this maybe I should.)

Task 3:
I was unsure of what to do for the self portrait in the end I thought of something that effects me in everyday life. Just under two years ago I was told I had Dyslexia, and up until then all I knew about it was "If you are Dyslexic you are just bad at spelling". But when I was told all the things that where 'wrong' with me, it hit me hard. To be honest it may have been obvious that something was wrong but I was oblivious to it. I was never great at reading and spelling, and with all subjects but English and foreign languages I was in top classes getting decent grades.

This piece is all the things that dyslexia affects me on my body, in a way the things that I have been labeled with for life with Dyslexia. All the things that are written on my body are the things that come with my dyslexia but will not be exactly the same for everyone that has it. Some of the things where more obvious that I would link with Dyslexia but some where not so obvious to me but are things that are very common with Dyslexics.

Task Two:
For task two I wanted to look at someone that I was once close to and in a way still am. This focus was on my Grandad who I 'knew' for half my life at this moment in time, until the time he passed. He was someone that I spent around a day, once a month/ few months and summer holidays with. Even though in my life I cant remember much of when I was young a lot of the pieces I do remember link back to him in some way even though in relation to my life so far I was only with him a short amount.

Not being with my family anymore I wanted to represent him with images from my memories.

The photograph shows him with all his children, their partners and his grandchildren which he always loved to spend time with, representing the family person he was. The coastline represents his love for the outdoors, his years volunteering and fundraising with the RNLI and also where he always took me no matter the weather or time of year. The chair represents where he loved to spend his down time relaxing reading the newspaper and also where he would read me stories from time to time. If he was not outside the one place you could have found him was in that chair. The paper that is on the chair is from 2004 the year which he passed away, which also has his passing away notified in the deaths section which both my Nan and my Dad keep with them by their beds.

Task 1: For my task I decided to focus on Nialls love of fashion so I decided to take a fashion type shot. I looked at a few fashion photographers and how they typically look and found that usually if its taken outside then they have a soft out of focus background (Bokeh) so the focus is more on the model and their clothes.
