Thanks for the link, Tony.

Updating your version of the Android operating system can cause more problems than it solves. Be careful what you wish for.

Glad I finally built a PC. Now seems like a geek right of passage that I should've done a long time ago.

Yeah, for an "expert who blogs for Technologizer and PC World, you're pretty late to the game there buddy.
And you built a PC to boot. #SMFH

I wish you well, but have no advice. I suck with hardware.

My friends and I want to all listen to the same music in a Google+ hangout. The problem is you can't just play something in the background on your PC because it won't come through, and you can't really play music over another stereo because it's tough to sync with everyone else (and then it's too loud for the camera to focus on who's talking.) Does a workaround for this yet exist?

Sup nerds! Anyone have experience creating custom RSS feeds filtered by author? Trying to create one for all my articles and running into trouble. Recommendations for tools would be great.

Today, +Harry McCracken announced that he's taking a full-time job at TIME, which means the end of Technologizer.com as a standalone site.

Although he'll continue to write a Technologizer blog at Time.com, his occasional contributors--including me, Ed Oswald and Benj Edwards--won't be part of it. So we're out of a gig.

I can't speak for those guys, but for me, the loss is more emotional than financial. Harry gave me my first real tech blogging job, back in in the fall of 2008 when Technologizer was only a few months old.

Writing for the site was intimidating; Harry's one of the smartest tech writers out there, and as someone without a lot of experience, I was terrified of looking like an idiot. For a long time, I refused to write general technology coverage, sticking only to my more comfortable games beat (even as I wrote about tech for other sites).

Since then, I've started regular gigs at PCWorld and, as of last year, at TIME's Techland blog--thanks in large part to Harry's recommendation. As other obligations increased, juggling Technologizer got harder, and my output has decreased.

Even so, Technologizer remained a special place. I never lost that feeling of having to keep up with some amazing talent, and not just Harry, but the other contributors as well. I'll miss being a contributor, but I'm grateful to have had the opportunity. Thanks Harry!

Did the time tech articles improve? I remember reading stuff that was below par, either misinformed or purposely misleading.

Ok Google+, need your help:

My new desktop is doing this annoying thing where, after it resumes from being asleep for several hours, it becomes very choppy and slow, and also the wireless internet goes out. It kicks in about 15 seconds after the computer wakes from sleep, and lasts for maybe 30 seconds. After that, everything goes back to normal.

I built this PC myself last week. It has a Core i5, Radeon 6870, 120 GB solid state, 8 GB of RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium.

Am I crazy or did the games and tech press get this story wrong?
