In three weeks, my cousin has learned to read Chinese characters, purchased his own tile set, constructed his own Mahjong table, and is diligently scrubbing the tiles with his thumb in an effort to learn to read them without looking (like a straight-up gangster.)
And he made this video with his friends.
I love Mahjong because it is partly traditional Chinese, but it is also a product of the Abercrombie and Fitch marketing engine of the 1920s.
Mutants, who else among you has recently discovered mahjong, which is played like gin rummy, except with big, satisfyingly loud tiles? Is this about to become the Next Big Thing again, as it was in the twenties?
The device at the end is meant to wrap electrical cable in insulating thread. I think. My daughter thought of it more as an automatic rainbow loom.
In the pack, four skaters are on Doomering's team, and four are on Roxy's. Offense and defense are played simultaneously in roller derby.
