101st Airborne 502nd Company B with B-25

Okay, this Before & After post is going to have to be brief as I been busy and have not had time to put together a detailed post on the post-processing for a shot I took over the weekend at our local D-Day event but here is the rundown.

As I said, the shot was taken at our local D-Day event last Saturday and it was a small event for our small community. It was held at our local small airport. It had a Sherman tank, army Jeeps, halftrack and of course a small WWII battle reenactment with the American soldiers charging the Germans. Explosions, machine gun fire, and more. One thing that was missing was the WWII planes as the weather was cloudy in the morning but by early afternoon the weather cleared and this B-25 bomber showed up. Later, a Douglas DC-3 (seen in a previous post) also showed up. So, it wasn't bust I am happy to say.

So, back to the picture! As you can see, some of the people from the battle reenactment posed in front of the B-25 bomber for pictures. I tried my best to get a couple of shots while trying not to get into someone else's shot. Once I got around to opening the photo, I hated it! Bad lighting of course as it was middle of the day and the sun decided to come out by that time. People were not only walking around behind the soldiers but few walked into the shots. Bottom line, the picture needed a LOT of work!

Hurray for Adobe Photoshop! After getting the look I wanted in Color Efex Pro 4, I started Photoshopping out the people walking into the shot, replacing the crappy over casted sky and replaced with one from another shot, and much much more. I spent a good two hours of working on the photo. I almost went cross-eye working on it. LOL

So, I hope you enjoy this before and after and sorry I did not have time to get into great detail on the post-processing this time.
