I post a lot of examples of anti-homophobia efforts in sports, and I just realized that those of you who aren't sports people might not realize how recent and sudden all this is. Shit like this, sixteen-year-old pro-bound athletes getting together to publicly declare their support for gay rights, this did not happen until You Can Play made it cool. There were soundbites here and there, but until YCP's initial PSA two years ago, it really wasn't talked about.
I'm particularly happy about this one because I saw the Steel play when I visited Chicago for Christmas, and I liked their badass T-shirt designs enough to buy one. Now I'll be proud to wear it.
