Lieff Cabraser partner Kenny Byrd spoke with Nashville Scene for an article entitled, “Cigarette Giant to Sponsor Schools Gala,” in which he raised questions relating to Big Tobacco sponsorship of schools. Over the past 4 years Byrd has litigated repeatedly against the tobacco companies for their 50-year conspiracy of misrepresenting the dangers of smoking cigarettes.

A new bill, known as the 2017 Fairness in Class Action Litigation Act, was approved by the House Judiciary Committee on February 15 by a 19 to 12 vote. This new legislation would add new provisions to the #classaction and #complexlitigation #law.
