California’s #DrugPriceReliefAct #Proposition61, a state ballot measure introduced to lower #prescriptiondrug prices, is facing major pushback from the #pharmaceutical industry (which has spent $70 million to defeat it), but also from some patient advocacy groups, who believe the proposal might inadvertently lead to increases in #drugpricing.

Per Texas law, U.S. District Court Judge Ed Kinkeade has reduced to $10 million the $360 million punitive damages portion of a jury's June 2016 $496 million #hipdefect  judgment against Johnson & Johnson’s #DePuy Orthopaedics unit. The revised amount is approximately $150 million over DePuy’s alleged defective #Pinnacle #hipimplants .
