This is a delayed review but OMG! We were in town for my girlfriend's birthday. I wanted to take her somewhere special. I used to come to Mitchell's after work when I lived in Tampa but never actually had dinner there. The hostess was very accommodating providing a booth when we asked for one. Our waiter was AMAZING and very attentive. We ordered crab cakes, fresh oysters and stone crabs as appetizers. Everything was so amazingly fresh! Then came dinner. We all had the dish with the lobster tail and crab stuffed shrimp. Let me say this, the four of us go out to dinner often. This was the FIRST time we ate EVERYTHING on our plates! I mean there was NOTHING left!! The food was flavorful and rich and absolutely fabulous! We were supposed to hit a few clubs after dinner but we were all so full we had to go back to the hotel to sleep it all off! It's unfortunate there isn't a Mitchell's here in South Florida but we will DEFINITELY BE back to Tampa just to have dinner here!!

After being disappointed earlier at Jimbo's bbq, we decided to eat here for dinner. D-f'in LICIOUS.... lol... Ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Steak melts in your mouth. If I ever come to Tampa in the near future this will be my place to eat. The server was wonderful. Very nice setting outside to eat.

Mitchell's used to be an awesome restaurant. But since being purchased by Landry's it's steadily gone downhill. The portions have gotten smaller, the food quality has suffered, the staff isn't as happy and cheerful (they grumble about the changes), and they even stopped offering the famous Mitchell's after dinner butter mints. I have been coming to this restaurant for the past 4 years and it was my favorite. But last night will be the last night as it's just not the same anymore. I guess J. Alexander's will now be my go to place while in Tampa.

Every time i'm in Tampa i come here. EXCELLENT FOOD! I travel for work and all meal expenses are paid by my company so I've dined at a lot of different places. This is one of my favorites. I don't care about price when i'm dining on my company's dime, however the prices are ridiculously low for the quality of food here. Come here and you will be impressed.

Subpar food, and horrendous chefs. Failed to cook crab cakes beyond ice cold, and the cod was the poorest quality fish I have had at any restaurant. They didn't even carry Sam Adams on tap. Said it was "broken". Great environment and waiters though... Even if they don't give you a discount for such an atrocity...

The food was good. I have always liked Mitchell for years. I am not sure why so many people gave it low ratings. Yes its true they give starlight mints and no longer give the Mitchell's wrapped dinner mints. I read someone's review where that bothered them...but to each it's own. I did NOT like their freshly squeezed lemonade especially the strawberry lemonade..YUCK! It was very tart and I sent it back. My guest and I were very surprised that they did not have more patrons there..not sure why more people are not eating there. We enjoyed

Our dinner experience on Father's Day was not good. We took another couple to dinner to celebrate her 60th birthday and had the following mishaps: reservation we booked was not there, a waiter's wet tray was on my chair but luckily I saw it before sitting down, the honoree received the wrong entree (chilean seabass) so we all had our meals while she had to wait for hers to be prepared and then when she did receive it, it was not cooked enough to be flaky. She was told her dinner would be on the house but we were charged for it. We did receive 2 free desserts but this does not take away from our embarrassment in treating her on this occasion which was her first experience at Mitchell's. This is the 2nd time we've had dinner at a Mitchell's restaurant and were disappointed. I do have to say that the beef medallions and stuffed shrimp were very good though - too bad she didn't order that.

Mother's Day surprise/disappointment: 1. How do you run out of Shrimp Scampi, but have shrimp? The rest is oil, butter and garlic! 2. The beer was warm. MFM solution was to bring a cool glass, not even frosted. 3. Tilapia was way undercooked. We had to take the dish to the manager because the waitress could not be found. They heated it some more, but it was still bad. 4. Poor mom on Mother's Day: Tried the special Cod with Lobster. Not fresh at all. Very over cooked, which made it so rubbery that she couldn't eat it. To top it all off, the service was next to horrible. Our reservation was at 7:45, it took half an hour to take our order. There was no flat ware on the table. Half the drinks (Soda, Ice Tea and Orange Juice) came out and the other half came 10 minutes later. It wasn't until after we complained to the manager that service became average at best.
