Our dinner experience on Father's Day was not good. We took another couple to dinner to celebrate her 60th birthday and had the following mishaps: reservation we booked was not there, a waiter's wet tray was on my chair but luckily I saw it before sitting down, the honoree received the wrong entree (chilean seabass) so we all had our meals while she had to wait for hers to be prepared and then when she did receive it, it was not cooked enough to be flaky. She was told her dinner would be on the house but we were charged for it. We did receive 2 free desserts but this does not take away from our embarrassment in treating her on this occasion which was her first experience at Mitchell's. This is the 2nd time we've had dinner at a Mitchell's restaurant and were disappointed. I do have to say that the beef medallions and stuffed shrimp were very good though - too bad she didn't order that.

Rating: 1-STAR Mitchell's Fish Market has always been a family favorite. Today changed all that. Service has never been worse. Ten percent tip was very generous. We waited a long time with every request from the waiter. The lobster bisque arrived cold, there was many things on the desert menu that were unavailable. The meals were below par and the check only had a final charge. There was no itemized check. Totally disappointed. The restaurant was half empty and I can understand why. This will be our last visit.

Love! Love! Love this place! Mitchell's is a great place ot come, especially if your a fish lover on a budget! A friend and I came here for a quick bite and claimed it as our go to spot! It's reasonably priced and they have great food! I got a cup of the New Orleans seafod gumbo and the Jamiacan blackend salmon with black beans and rice and it was amazing! All for about $22 bucks! The portion sizes are friendly, as well as the staff! I definitely recommend dining here!

Every time i'm in Tampa i come here. EXCELLENT FOOD! I travel for work and all meal expenses are paid by my company so I've dined at a lot of different places. This is one of my favorites. I don't care about price when i'm dining on my company's dime, however the prices are ridiculously low for the quality of food here. Come here and you will be impressed.

Mother's Day surprise/disappointment: 1. How do you run out of Shrimp Scampi, but have shrimp? The rest is oil, butter and garlic! 2. The beer was warm. MFM solution was to bring a cool glass, not even frosted. 3. Tilapia was way undercooked. We had to take the dish to the manager because the waitress could not be found. They heated it some more, but it was still bad. 4. Poor mom on Mother's Day: Tried the special Cod with Lobster. Not fresh at all. Very over cooked, which made it so rubbery that she couldn't eat it. To top it all off, the service was next to horrible. Our reservation was at 7:45, it took half an hour to take our order. There was no flat ware on the table. Half the drinks (Soda, Ice Tea and Orange Juice) came out and the other half came 10 minutes later. It wasn't until after we complained to the manager that service became average at best.

Just went there for the first time. First - The server was unfamiliar with the beer selection and didn’t know the difference between a Cigar City Maduro and a Cigar City Jai Alai / IPA. Second - A small loaf of oily bread was brought to the table but it wasn’t cut and a knife was not provided so we ended up with oily hands and mutilated bread trying to cut it with a butter knife. Third - NOW FOR THE KICKER – We ordered our meals and an appetizer – the Bacon Wrapped BBQ Shrimp. When the shrimp arrived and we took our first bite, we immediately noticed that something was seriously wrong, but our table was so dark that we couldn’t see our food. We pulled out our smartphone flashlight and there it was, RAW bacon and RAW Shrimp. SOMEONE soon arrived at our tableside, and stood there without identifying themselves. I asked them, “May I help you?” They then stated that they heard our food was ‘undercooked’. I quickly corrected him and let him know that it was in fact RAW, not undercooked. He then sarcastically questioned me, “Raw?” He said. “Yes, raw.” I said. He then said “I’ll just take it off your bill.” and just waked away without a single apology or care in the world that their food nearly made us deathly sick. I quickly stopped him to ask for his name since he never even identified himself. “Rufus.” he said and walked away. We’d had enough! So, respectfully we left cash to cover our drinks and walked out before our food arrived. For a restaurant that is supposed to be a class act, I think these idiots need to go back to class and learn the basics of food preparation, learn their menu, and learn some customer service skills. If you choose to visit this establishment, do so at your own risk and check your food for thorough and proper cooking. I WILL NEVER GO BACK.
