We love this place. Order the Sliced Fish Szechuan Style. It's spicy, but so delicious. Also, I have literally dreamt about how delicious the scallion pancakes are. Best in the city! Be prepared to have zero personal space while eating...it's part of the charm. It's loud, crowded, and a bit intense, so be prepared! And it's popular, so get there well before dinner hour, or prepared to wait at least half an hour. Worth it!

Do you like spicy food? Do you like incredible broth and seafood? If you've answered yes to both of these questions, then get to Gourmet Dumpling house - NOW, and order D.27. Also - the mini juicy dumplings (Xiaolongbao) are pretty ace as is the scallion pancake.

My partner and I were in town for PAX and heard about this place by word-of-mouth. I've been to a number of places around the country with dumplings, and this was by far one of the best. If I lived in the area, I would be there at least once a week and any time I had an out-of-town visitor, I would take them there. To give you an idea of how good the food is, we went out of our way to eat there twice, when typically I prefer to eat at as many different places as possible when I'm on vacation. The prices are also incredibly reasonable. I agree with others that the restaurant is extremely small so be patient and be prepared to wait. If you are willing to share a table with others then you will get seated faster. Don't expect to go with a large group of people and "just grab a table" without much of a wait. As for the service, the food comes out with reasonable timing, but depending on how busy they are it might be hard to put in your order.

Great dumplings. Inexpensive and worth it.
