As our name suggests, CatholicVote is proudly Roman Catholic, but we also are proud to count thousands of members of other faith traditions, and even a few agnostics and atheists as fellow members.

What we believe is not exclusive to any religious faith. America´s founding principles that uphold the dignity of life, the centrality of the family, and the importance of religion and morality are not Catholic things - they belong to anyone who is human because they are true! These are the truths that bind all Americans beginning with our Declaration of Independence.

In today´s world, we need to grab people´s attention and make our points in an engaging way. Boring doesn´t cut it anymore. Together with our hundreds of thousands of members, we are dedicated to advancing legislation and communicating ideas that will benefit all Americans. Let´s face it, we live in a media driven culture. So, let´s drive the media in the right direction!

If we want to make our country great, we need to get back to the basics - to the values that made our country great, and the values thousands have fought to preserve and protect!

So, what do we believe and what are we going to do about it? First and foremost, we were founded to use the Internet and new media to shape the mind and imagination of our culture - and motivate action. What action? To talk to their friends (send them a video!), organize for or against legislation, contact their elected officials, to vote - to get involved as a faith-filled citizen.

It´s high time politicians stop taking us for granted. And together we can have a much bigger impact than acting on our own.

Every human life is a gift of unlimited potential.

Life is the greatest positive force. We are FOR life. Period.

Motherhood is one of our greatest treasures.

Who doesn´t love their mother? We need to give all women, and especially mothers the respect, honor and protection they deserve.

Science and medicine must always focus on the good of the whole human person.

From the beginning to the end, no exceptions! From natural conception to natural death. Science must respect human dignity, not the other way around!

Marriage is between one man and one woman.

Marriage is the building block of families and our society. If we weaken marriage, we hurt our children, culture and our country.

The death penalty is an unnecessary legal sanction in our culture.

These days we need to always proclaim the dignity of the human person. We need to show the world that nothing is greater than Life.

Everyone (not just government) has the responsibility to defend the "weakest among us."

As human beings, as Americans, we are all called to help the poor. This is done best by families, local charities, churches, and community driven solutions. And let´s just admit that decades of laws and trillions of dollars in taxes collected by the federal government and sent back to the states for social welfare programs have largely failed. What we don´t need is more government funded and managed solutions. Instead, we need to find better, smarter ways to help American families in need by unleashing the enormous power of private charities to help our fellow citizens.

The environment is God´s gift.

Everyone is called to exercise responsible stewardship of nature. This means that while we cannot selfishly exploit the earth, God´s creation was given to us to use wisely to satisfy our needs. We believe that human beings are the greatest resource, and nature´s greatest gift, and that the best way to encourage a healthy environment is to encourage a healthy moral culture.

Make a difference! Become a part of the movement today!

Frequently Asked Questions about CatholicVote

Is CatholicVote just for Catholics?

Absolutely not! Tens of thousands of non-Catholics (and even a few atheists) have joined CatholicVote because they appreciate our unique approach to shaping the mind and imagination with creative and powerful campaigns. While a majority of our membership is Catholic, we welcome all people of good will who seek newer, joy-filled ways to tell the world about the great gifts of life, faith, and family.

Is CatholicVote run by or funded by the Catholic Bishops? Is CatholicVote officially a part of the Catholic Church?

No. CatholicVote is an independent effort of Americans who support the teachings of the Catholic Church. We are not funded or managed by the Catholic Church. 100% of our funding comes from private donations from our members.

Are you liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat?

We are non-partisan - so none of the above. CatholicVote believes that politicians from all political parties should fight for policies that truly protect the common good, beginning with the unborn. People of all political parties should embrace the important role of life, faith and family in our country, and in the world.
