I believe that sustainability – broadly realized – is a necessity for healthy, just, and vibrant societies.
I have been active in the sustainability movement for over twenty-five years, and have worked with the Forest Stewardship Council, Green Festival, Sustainable Cascadia, Sustainable Seattle, Eat Local Now! and Seattle Innovators, as well as Seattle-area SCALLOPS affiliates, Transition Network groups, and others.
My professional training includes a Ph.D. in Environmental Politics and an M.A. in Political Economy (with research in Ecological Economics) from the University of Maryland, and a B.A. in Ecological Agriculture from The Evergreen State College. I served in Peace Corps (Bolivia) from 1993-95.
