I've been a regular user of Provalis Research's text analytics software, especially QDA Miner and WordStat.

It would be nice to be able to trade ideas and ask questions with other Provalis users. Anyone out there on G+?

The problem is "which" G+ Tech Communities. I see only a handful of posts across G+ that mention Provalis software at all.

A slideshow? How lame is that? I'd rather put my iPod on and browse Pinterest.

I don't really drink soda (or bottled water), so this is unlikely to impact my consumption choices. But this is one of the most patriotic adverts I can remember seeing.

This makes me proud. This is America.

Our dear friends in Driftwood Fire have released a video to their song "Appalachian Hills." Gorgeous, in every sense.

Molly is mostly well-behaved, at least for a puppy. Then there are times like this morning, when she becomes a fur kite.

I think anyone would benefit from listening to this, but it should be especially compelling for my social scientist friends. Really, this is worth a listen.

I believe that sustainability – broadly realized – is a necessity for healthy, just, and vibrant societies.
Introduction
I have been active in the sustainability movement for over twenty-five years, and have worked with the Forest Stewardship Council, Green Festival, Sustainable Cascadia, Sustainable Seattle, Eat Local Now! and Seattle Innovators, as well as Seattle-area SCALLOPS affiliates, Transition Network groups, and others. My professional training includes a Ph.D. in Environmental Politics and an M.A. in Political Economy (with research in Ecological Economics) from the University of Maryland, and a B.A. in Ecological Agriculture from The Evergreen State College. I served in Peace Corps (Bolivia) from 1993-95.
