Questions & Answers  -

Hi all! I posted this back in February and got some good feedback on it. I finally got a chance to work on it again recently and just got through with a pretty sizable update. I would appreciate it if you could check it out and let me know what you think.

Can't figure out why this event isn't firing in #backbonejs

Here's a little PIC based altimeter I made for my quadcopter. It bit bangs the data to an Arduino. Works pretty well!

My apologies, not sure how that happened. I've fixed it.

Hey guys! I would really love some help on this. I can't figure out how to program my PIC12F675. I'm 100% positive I have it hooked up correctly, but the PICKit 2 software isn't recognizing it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You want to put a pull-up resistor (VDD to somewhere on your MCLR pin of the uController to pin 1 of your ICSP header for starters.

It also wouldn't hurt to connect your VDD pin on your ICSP header to your boards VDD (call it robustness if you want to power your circuit from the PIC Kit 2.

But I would definately start with a pullup resister (10k-ish ohms) on your MCLR line to 5volts (or whatever the source voltage is for the uController 3.3vdc or 5vdc)

Hey everyone! I posted this back in February and got some good feedback on it. I just got finished with a pretty sizable round of updates and thought I'd share my progress. I think it looks much better than it did. Any feedback you may have is greatly appreciated.

Just made this altimeter for my quadcopter, pretty proud of it! It uses a PIC12F675 to read a Motorola MPX4115A pressure sensor. It then transmits that data serially to an Arduino through a bit banging routine. I should cite this page [http://jbgizmo.com/page27.htm] as the source for the circuit. I wrote my own code in C, instead of using his.

It's 8-bit resolution. And I haven't really tested it extensively, but initial tests proved fairly accurate. At least close enough for my application.
