The Whistler is a small bar where you can get high quality cocktails and listen to live music. It's almost always packed (in a good way) and makes a great venue for a birthday party.

Before dinner on a weekend on the patio, this place is lovely! I'm not into rowdy and bumping, but I got there a little early and it was a great night. The cocktails are definitely interesting – curry powder! cucumbers and coconut! They definitely take things seriously, and it's a great, intimate space. But seriously, the patio is wonderful.

Get an Old Fashioned and then go to the patio where the music isn't.

Hands down the best Old Fashioned in the city. Great, chill atmosphere. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. Try to get a seat outside.

I spent one of the most memorable nights of my life here listening to a super talented but completely unknown DJ spin old school hip-hop while I sipped innovative cocktails from some of the best mixologists in town. The is the place where Paul McGee made his name and they still carry on his legacy with unique flavor combinations and obscure liquors. Warning: you will wait in line to get in after 10pm, you will wait to get a cocktail and you will wait for the bathroom. But the silver lining is that you're in one of the best bars in the neighborhood.

A Logan Square standard, The Whistler thrives on its versatility. Sometimes upbeat with music and filled to the brim with folks cheerfully dancing, at other times good for a quieter drink with a friend, this bar seems to always have the right ambience to satisfy its diverse customer base. From the excellent craft cocktails, to the friendly and knowledgeable staff, to the live music and quirky events like "Movieoke" (seriously, check this one out for a Wednesday night giggle), over the past five years this place has become a central watering hole in Logan Square.

i ordered a really good drink here. i went here thinking slushy was playing and i really needed to get out of the house. turns out it was some other place called the wistler in minnesota or something. there were just some free jazz musicians playing though. i was actually looking for a new soulmate and didnt find one. i did creep on one chick by asking some other dude if she was his girl. he said no, and she heard me ask him so she made really sure to be extra touchy with her real bf who was some weird indian photographer dude.
