EFT 35 YEARS: Willits Sawyer, Founder and Chairman emeritus of EFT Corporation
Willits Sawyer’s experience in fundraising and processing spans more than 45 years. His fundraising career began in 1968 following his service as a U.S. Navy SEAL, when he was invited to help with a capital campaign at his former prep school, Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H. After succeeding there, he helped turn around a floundering campaign at Yale University, including setting up the university’s first charitable remainder trust in 1971. He also served as Vice President of Outward Bound USA and President of ORAM Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based fundraising consulting firm. Throughout his career, Sawyer has been committed to continuing education in the fundraising profession. He was a member of the first class of fundraisers to earn the CFRE credential. He also helped to establish the AFP Connecticut Chapter and continues to serve as a mentor to numerous friends and colleagues in the profession.
Thank you, Will, for all your hard work and dedication to the non-profit community and EFT Corporation!
