Today State Initiative 502 (I-502), the legalization of possession and use of a small quantity of marijuana for those 21 and over, goes into effect. HOWEVER, it's important to know that possession of marijuana is still a federal crime. As a state institution that accepts federal funds, we are bound by federal law. Therefore, it is still illegal to posses or use this drug on campus. Thank you for helping us follow the federal law so we don't lose our funding.

Lake Washington Institute of Technology is proud to announce student accounts along with student emails! What this means is you will now have a username (s-firstname.lastname) that you will use for logging into your classroom computer; unlike the old method of using the classroom number. You will also have a student email of s-firstname.lastname@lwtech.edu. This is great because you will now have a roaming profile that allows your files in My Documents, your desktop or any other locations to follow you. So you could be in one class create a word document, move to another classroom login and it will be at the same location you saved it.

So along with this highly expected release you will also have a way of managing your account and finding out your password, student email, and other details. Say hello to MyLWIT the portal to everything you need to manage your student account. Before you can start using your student account drop by http://my.lwtech.edu it is very simple and very fast! All you need is your SID and PIN.

For Help with any issues obtaining your credentials please contact StudentHelpdesk@lwtech.edu. Be sure to include your full name and SID, so we can verify and investigate you problem.

Thank you,

A lot of people are headed back to school. What schools are they choosing? Why schools like LWIT because of their bang for the buck. Many AA degrees get graduates into jobs sooner, and with better pay, than bachelor's degrees.
