WORLD AIDS VACCINE DAY

Also known as HIV Vaccine Awareness Day, it was first observed on May 18, 1998, to promote the continued urgent need for a safe and effective vaccine to prevent HIV infection and AIDS.
Modern science and technology are being adopted by researchers all over the globe in the quest for an effective vaccine that will curtail and later eliminate the HIV/AIDS threat.

Presently encouraging studies are ongoing in Uganda by different research institutions.

The UNCST therefore acknowledges and appreciates: volunteers, health professionals, scientists, and cultural leaders working together for a common cause of eliminating the HIV/AIDS scourge.
We urge all Ugandans to use condoms, consider safe male circumcision, and visit a health centre for your HIV/AIDS status.
