The other day working on a Sandy  claim, a flood adjuster told me that flood water was NOT category 3 water and then questioned my expertise for claiming that it was.   I was left shaking my head and wondering if the sky was really blue or have I been mistaken all these years.

Sandy Lesson 1:  A recurring problem problem I am seeing settling Sandy claims would have be the simplest to fix at the start.  Next time before ripping out and throwing away - take some pictures.

Is there anyone  else out there specifying ice and water shield to the GAF instructions of 24" inside the heated wall, please let me know. I am getting push back from an insurer on my quantities as a result of following the spec.

State Farm changing adjusters on a loss as often as some people change socks. Is this bad management? CAT staffing issues?  Or a jaded effort to delay until the insured accepts a low ball offer?  I have seen it so many times  I suggest it is the latter.

Since  some carriers just won't pay the Supervision line item, what I'm going to do now is try adding a line item for every task a job super/project manager would do.  4 hours Gen labor for getting permits.  4 more hours each time some one has to wait for an inspection.  8 hours to run around trying to match materials ... and so on... and so ... Has anyone tried this?

How to carriers still get away with refusing to pay for project managers?
