Grout injection to stop water infiltration – Before and After

As an effective method for repairing or strengthening masonry walls, we injected a low viscosity grout into cracks, voids, collar joints and cavities to repair and halt the spread of cracks to increase resistance to moisture penetration.

After walls and floors were cleaned, prepped and patched, we applied two heavy coats of a water-based epoxy.

Throwback to our job at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Before and after pictures of pressure washed cast-in-place concrete wall using approximately 800 - 1000 PSI. Remaining stains after pressure wash were removed either chemically, with a ferrous stain remover, or with an all purpose cleaner and then rinsed. After allowing a few days for drying, we applied a mineral stain to surface for desired look.

At 5 Madison Avenue, some of the existing Tuckahoe marble stone lintel units were in such poor condition that full replacement was required. Due to the lack of suitable natural stone available to match existing, Landmarks approved the use of a cast stone material to match the existing color and texture. Here are progress photos of one of the new cast stone lintel units being installed on the North façade. We were able to push the unit out on a ‘roller platform’ we fabricated in our shop and lift it into place using a typical chain fall hung from an outrigger beam cantilevered out the window above.
