Today the WECDSB was happy to welcome the YMCA Canada as its newest neighbour at Central Park Athletics. Given the Y's long history of charitable good works and promoting good health, they'll be a perfect fit alongside our hockey, soccer, and baseball academies. Welcome aboard!

Some of our newest Wildcats were at Notre Dame last week. New JK students for September 2015 were invited to spend two mornings with us. They had the opportunity to meet new friends, work on literacy activities & iPads, play in the gym and the courtyard as well as participate in interactive stories and sing songs. Parents had the opportunity to speak to a variety of staff members to learn about our FDK Program. We look forward to seeing all of our newest JKs in September.

Excited Grade 3 students at WJ Langlois opened the doors to their Little Free Library. With help from WindsorEssex Community Foundation, the Little Free Library encourages children to become better readers and allows members of the community to drop off books for others to read, or to pick up books to enjoy themselves. The Friends of Fontainebleau were also in attendance to celebrate the grand opening!

St. John the Baptist elementary students organized a Digital Citizenship & online safety session for parents & staff. The students created excellent presentations using Google to explain the importance of social & digital media, how to be safe not only on Facebook & Twitter, but also how you should treat others the way you would want to be treated.
