Don’t let a black cat cross your path; don’t walk under ladders, don’t break a mirror. We’ve all heard the normal superstitions the human race has embraced over the years. But did you know that there’s a good share of phobias and superstitions about windows and even window treatments?

1) Did you know that you can use window treatments for sliding doors?

A new set of curtains gives any old room a fresh look. Choosing a window treatment for a sliding glass door can be a challenge because you don't want to hinder the usefulness of the door. Consider these tips as you dress up your sliding door:

•Use tiebacks to cinch stationary curtain panels aside, especially at the door-handle side, to support door function.

•Mount top treatments high enough above the door frame so the hem doesn't brush heads passing through.

•Hang curtain panels that will be opened and closed a smidge above the floor to keep them clean.

Think your room is in need of a fresh look? Contact us today to get your project started.

Focal Point 101; it doesn’t have to be a fireplace or another large item to be the focal point of your room.  How about using your window treatment as the focal point? Tip: The color should always be brighter or darker than the surrounding area, for example, white walls with a lot of lot would look nice surrounded with a dark, Basswood Venetian blind. Or reverse it; a dark wall with a white/light colored blind. Presto! Focal point achieved!
