The hotel itself was nice - I was here for a conference, though, and really didn't spend that much time in the room. The heating and A/C had problems in the conference room I was in, and my floor had no "down" elevator button, but besides from those problems I had a pleasant experience.
The room and service were excellent. The lobby is beautiful. They had a guest reception at the restaurant next to the lobby with free drinks and appetizers, which included calamari and bacon wrapped shrimp. They said that they are doing guest receptions every week on Tuesday or Wednesday nights. It was a wonderful surprise for us! Would definitely stay here again.
The biltmore is a beautiful historic hotel. The main lobby is gorgeous and the glass elevator sits in the middle. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant, McCormick and schmicks is delicious, with a stellar happy hour.
Nice lobby area. Room 629 was very dirty. Sink was detaching from the wall. Poor lighting in the room and bathroom. Wall paper was bubbling up on several walls. Cancelled reservation after arrival. Still had to pay $258 for the few minutes we spent in the room. First time I've ever left a hotel under these circumstances and I've stayed in some real sh** holes. Service was great at the desk checking in though.
