Finally made it here after years of hype and it just didn't live up to expectation. Service: 4-stars. Our initial server was great and spent time explaining the "farm to table" concept and walking us through the menu. She made some recommendations for us as well. Throughout the meal, though, we had barely finished one dish before another came out. This wasn't done in the "share a few things at a time" way, they were definitely served serially, but without any time to digest in between. Yellowtail jack confit with brussels sprouts, anchovy, and endive: 4-stars. The yellowtail was well prepared and tender served on top of shaved brussels and endive. I didn't get much anchovy, but the citrusy dressing was a nice touch. This wasn't the most amazing dish I've ever had, but it was a nice, light start to the meal. Wood-oven-baked fregola sarda and slow-cooked duck with tomato, fava greens, and creme fraiche: 3-stars. The dish was almost soupy and needed bread to sop up the puddles left on our plates. The duck was tender and the creme fraiche added some creaminess to an otherwise acidic dish, but as a whole I found the dish bland and lacking in any excitement. Maitake mushrooms and broccoli di ciccio with red lentils, a fried egg, and fresh turmeric yogurt: 5-stars. This dish was great, the mushrooms were meaty, the broccoli was just the right balance of cooked and crunchy, the creamy yogurt sauce added a nice spice to the dish, and the mashed red lentils gave some softer texture. I'm an easy sell on eggs and this one was such a great touch. My only complaint was it could have used more mushrooms! I also had the Bellamy Scotch Sour: Almost like a Pisco Sour but with scotch. It was a frothy winter drink which made me feel nice and warm inside. Overall, the food was good but not outstanding, and at the price we paid, I'm not running back here.

I love supporting this institution that employs sustainable sourcing and practices for all of their ingredients, be it on the plate or in a cocktail glass. I have a restricted autoimmune Paleo diet and even with that I'm still able to eat very well here.

Good as a bar, but the food is rather mediocre. We came here for a company dinner and it was a waste of money. The wine selection wasn't much to speak of either, but cocktails seemed okay.

The only thing I liked about this place was the good atmosphere. Overpriced and mediocre food and tiny portions (even the cocktails were tiny!). There are many other group friendly places you could go to instead and get a lot more for your money.

Great find in an unexpected place. The decor, glass blown lamps by a Nikolas Weinstein, the freshness if the ingredients and great cocktails topped by incredible service. Definitely coming back.

I first came here soon after it opened and loved it. I didn't care for their take on "family style" because their interpretation is that food comes out whenever it's ready. Despite the "family style" approach, the food was amazing and the cocktails were great. They source all of their spirits from the U.S. and use organic spirits (not that it's that big of a deal for me). So I was dying to come back but it had been years before finding an opportunity. I was so disappointed! The menu items were way too out there. I don't experimenting, but when sea urchin is the only item that I recognize on the menu, they need to rethink the options. Overall, the quirky approach left us unsatisfied and hungry. Too many other great spots to eat at in the city - will not return.
