Climbing out of a hole can be hard but I have claws and I'm almost to the top. No turning back now.

I'm talking a much needed break from Facebook. It has become apparent that I just need to walk away from that drama mess until I get myself together. Who knows, this may be the permanent move to g+ I've been trying to make for years now.

Social (Social Neuroscience, Organizational, EvPsych, etc.)  -

I am currently watching how organic social media has become and the growth is exponential. The two areas that i love so much are my teens (my daughter and her friends) and my husband (combat related PTSD). In beginning to see a pattern with them and the constant fixation they have on checking news feeds Then based on what they read it can possibly change their moods for the remainder of the day. For people with mental heath issues, social media can be a useful tool by connecting people quickly and effectively when someone may be in crisis. We'll theorize that 10-25% are helped by means of social media vs other means. But then let's talk about how damage is caused by people acting out and being negative towards each other. I've seen both sides tonight. Just in a 12 hour period and only what i see in my news feed. I'm trying to decide if i should research this on a grander scale? And would it be laughed out of a conference.? I need some feedback. Thank you everyone!

Thank you so much! You gave me the clarity I needed to get started. The effects of social media on mental health patients can be so damaging. The general populace doesn't seen to see it because it's not a big enough issue. The stats aren't high enough. I'm going to get to work on this. When it's complete i would be honored if you would be one of the first to read it. Thank you for you help Ron.
Best.

Transferring to a new school to complete my BS in psych is the most terrifying thing I have ever done in my life and I have given birth.

I am finding that planning my educational future is a daunting task. I'm just thankful that I don't have to declare a minor until I reach 30 credit hrs. Once I get settled in this semester I will be branching out and making connections in the department.

I am not able to describe myself briefly. I am that complicated. But then again, isn't everyone?
Introduction
I live in a small town in Georgia. If you look closely, you can see The Walking Dead in the landscape. I love it here! You can also see my hometown in the movie Zombieland, Outlaws, Fried Green Tomatoes, Pet Cemetery II, A Joyful Noise, just to name a few. My home town is the typical "Hometownsville" that everyone wants to live in. I'm a mother and soon to be married to my best friend of 34 years. I am always busy even when I'm not busy. I love my life!!
Bragging rights
I am a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I am so very proud of that honor. I bust my tookus for my grades. Take that high school me that couldn't buckle down to save her life!! Oh yeah! I'm an awesome student now!!
