The Royal Sonesta management is excellent. The staff is very very attentive, very welcoming and it feels like they enjoy their job. The rooms were decent, for the price they were better than expected. Very clean, motion sensors feet lights, very well insulated from highway noise. The beds are soft, my wife hated it but I like soft beds. Parking is valet ($30?) Or self park ($22?). Valet is worth it because the guys are quick and there are taxi's on standby. The food unfortunately was mediocre. The sorbet was too syrupy, the quinoa had Sriracha with corn flakes, the burger had no sauce and the salmon was ok. I don't recommend eating more than a snack at the restaurant. Bar staff was very nice, talkative, attentive and drinks were good. Overall, we spent about 6k for the week, about 1k was at the Sonesta, I do not regret the Sonesta spending. Very pleased.

The Royal Sonesta is a fine hotel that fits the bill for business travel. The rooms are spacious (mine had a sitting area) and clean. Bathrooms are a little tight but not terrible. The downstairs bar is perfectly fine -- a little chill but fine enough. They offer a nice selection of local beers, which is a big plus. Coffee shop has plenty of selections.I did not try the restaurant.

Royal Sonesta in Houston is modern and beautifully updated. Artistic designed accents include a glass sculpture in the entry and artwork in rooms. Deluxe accommodations at good prices. This is the perfect place to stay on business.

I feel that this hotel may have been a brand property at one time and possibly may have lost its flag. The property is nice but I feel that they try to hard on some of the small things and totally miss the big things. For instance, the spare toilet paper is in a Toole bag but the wall paper in the bathroom was put up horribly and is peeling off of the walls. You can slap a nice name on a holiday Inn and put new light fixtures up but that doesn't make it a st. Regis, it's still a holiday inn. I think they are on the right track but there is still a lot of work to go.

This hotel checks all the boxes: it's pleasant, modern and well-priced. However, the real reason I felt moved to give a good review is the excellent service for priority members on the 23rd floor. The staff there are quite dedicated and prepare a surprisingly good breakfast spread each day - much better than those I have seen at other hotel priority lounges. Definitely want to keep coming back here, when I visit Houston.

I will never return! When I first checked in they gave me a room with someone already in it, which was very embarrassing. The staff at the bar insulted me when I ordered a Makers Mark on the rocks. They told me they could not make me that drink because I was not "super VIP". I also asked if they had any Pappy Van Winkle and the bartender said he had 3 bottles but would not sell any to me and proceeded to remove the bottles and lock them up in the cabinet for no one to see. This was only after having 1 beer at the bar. I complained to the manager and all I got was 2 bottles of water and a very small meat and cheese tray sent to my room. I have never been more insulted in my entire life! Also, the bed in my room did not have fitted sheets so I slept on top of the mattress without a sheet which made the bed very uncomfortable. The water in the shower was barely even hot and the maids obviously do not check to refill the shampoo. So if you do decide to stay here, check to make sure no one is in your room first, bring fitted sheets, shampoo, your own alcohol if you want a drink and be prepared to be insulted. Good Luck!
