In 2010, I wrote the ebook "Endgame 2012" advocating for the passage of the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to abolish war and nuclear weapons. Far from being a Utopian dream, the 28th Amendment is based on an existing legal precedent - Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution - which has been successful for over 64 years in effectively preventing the State in Japan from organizing and exporting political violence in war. The book features a debate on the 28th Amendment with the political theorist & philosopher Noam Chomsky of MIT.
Chomsky's work establishes the domestic control of political institutions ("the State") as the enabling factor or main cause behind the production of war historically. The political sects in control of the institutions of government in the United States build upon a legacy of colonialism, slavery, & genocide, while continuing to expand the police State and international war machine with devastating consequences to innocent human beings around the world - witness the mass atrocities of Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Guatemala, Korea, Cambodia, Libya, Columbia, Argentina, and many other countries where violent force has been deployed by the U.S. since WWII, as well as the violence of the prisons, jails, concentration camps, & gulags established domestically that are characterized by racism, violence, and human rights violations against citizens.
These "double standards" go to the heart of the issue of how U.S. propaganda symbolically manipulates the people in the name of "Democracy, Freedom, & Christianity" without caring about the true meaning of the concepts or values in social life and human rights. Trillions of dollars are allocated to fund U.S. military programs, wars, domestic police, prisons, NSA surveillance, & corporate bailouts while billions of humans around the world live on just a few dollars a day without adequate access to food, water, healthcare, electricity, education, and housing. The UN Millennium Goals program is just one example of the moral imperative and how "the Golden Rule" can be applied as an alternative foreign policy, making a positive difference for hundreds of millions of human lives.
