I'm really not picky when it comes to eating out but this place was a rip off. My food costs me 43 dollars for about 9 shrimp with fries and hush puppies and a side of crab (8 wimpy legs). The crab was the worst crab I've ever gotten in any restaurant. It was so over cooked I couldn't get any of the meat out because it was stuck to the shell. The shrimp was the coconut shrimp and it was so sweet I couldn't finish it. Will not be returning.

ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS We ordered a steam pot and then added another steam pot for an additional $20.00. All I can say is that I am EXTREMELY disappointed. I have been to several other Joe's Crab Shacks all over the US and everytime my family has ordered the same thing (the Steampot) which usually comes overflowing with a variety of crab, shrimp, and potatoes/corn. BUT, the meal we received tonight was absolutely ridiculous. We had a group of 5 and ordered two steam pots and received only 6 snow crab legs (no queen like we were supposed to) 2 very small lobsters (one came broken with no meat in the inside) and 6 halves of a small potato and only 2 peices of corn and 10 smaller shrimp. This was a waste of my families time and money. We spent over $60 ( not including our drinks) only to leave hungry. Please do not waste your time at this facility. This was supposed to be a special night out with friends, but it was ruined from the lack of food.

Yuck yuck and yuck. This was a very last minute quick early dinner idea on the way back to Wilmington,NC. The servers and clientele both looked like the kind of people who shoplift at Walmart. The interior was dirty and worn out. We all looked wary of the environment, but as we were in hurry we took a shot. Our waitress was alright as a server, but she had stale yellow teeth which was a turn-off. The food was not good at all. How can one mess up deep fried food? As I mentioned, the crowd was like a mix of trailer park and section 8 housing had just been shipped in. Myrtle Beach is full of trashy people but this was like a Jerry springer guest list. I would avoid this place at all costs unless you don't mind eating horrible food next to poo putt women and their ex-con boyfriend's while their future criminal children run wild.

Good seafood, mediocre service, terrible crowds. Being at Broadway at the Beach, Joe's Crab Shack stays perpetually crowded. If you're willing to wait a while for a table, and deal with slow service, it's pretty good. Make note, however, this is by no means the best seafood in Myrtle Beach. This location has better food than the one in Greenville, SC, but the service is nowhere near as good.

The food was a pretty good value. The first order of crab legs that I had from the steam pot had almost no meat at all, I paid extra for one more leg, it too was almost meatless. The flavor was on point though. Also the manager was patrolling the dining room to ask if everyone was doing ok, it was good to see that management was taking an active roll for the front of house. I indicated to him that 2 of my 3 crabs were mostly she'll and only spreads if meat and he took it upon himself to bring me another leg at no cost, that leg had a lot of meat in it. The atmosphere is nice and the booths are big. They have some fun drinks and the staff was more than friendly. The staff gets an extra shout out for being LGBT friendly and not misgenders me as well, in this day and age that's a rarity in this area. I'll definitely come back, but likely only if we get the steam pot for 2 to ensure value.

BEWARE ALL CUSTOMERS OF JOES CRAB SHACK ON MYRTLE BEACH. My friends (5 total) and I went to this crab shack looking to enjoy a nice night of crab and seafood. We are on a spring break vacation and don't get seafood too much where we live. Upon arriving we were not given enough silverware to even start off with. The waitress had to go get more after we sat down. We ordered 2 steam pots from the menu because it was buy one get a pot for $20 dollars and my friends and I were extremely excited. When they came back with the food it was in a crock pot and it seemed amazing at first but after they opened it up they had both pots thrown into one. There was only a total of 10 small shrimp, 6 snow crab legs, 2 small lobsters, one of which was broken and had little to no meat in it. I kept thinking that a second pot was coming but the waitress informed us that they threw it all into one pot. All 5 of my friends between us got only two crab legs and some miscellaneous lobster bits along with some shrimp and other bits of corn and sausage they threw in. I was extremely bothered and upset by this. The meal was expensive and I felt like we paid for a appetizer. When we got the bill was when I was really shocked. I don't mind paying for a good meal if you get what you pay for. I am a hard working man and put a lot of time into my career and have worked hard to take time off and enjoy the fruits of my labor and this meal disgusts and disappoints me to no end. The bill was 67 dollars. That is outrageous for the amount of food we got and to walk away hungry was even worse to top it all off. If you want to get scammed and ripped off on the amount of seafood then by all means, go here. This place is for you. But if you want a good time with lots of food and a decent price. Then stay away.

First suggestion ... Don't put pictures on the menu of nice big plates of food if that's not what you are serving. The menu has nice pictures of overflowing steam pots but in reality you get a very small portion for $28. The crab legs were very small and frozen. With CRAB in the name of your establishment you would think that would be your specialty, but honestly, I have had better crab legs at the Chinese Buffett. The shrimp were small and not even deveined. The corn was probably the most pathetic thing I have ever had the misfortune of being served. I would have been embarrassed to serve this to my customers and then bring them a bill for $50. My wife had the double shrimp platter for $16. EIGHT shrimp!!! How small would that plate hav been if it were just the single! Seriously have seen bigger portions served as appetizers. She did say "the fries were good" Really ... McDonalds has good fries! This was our third and final time dining with Joe. Second suggestion ... Change the name to Joe's CRAP Shack because that's what it has become. We picked Joe's over Greg Norman's Grill and the Chesapeake House!!! We will NEVER make that mistake again!!! The service was very good and the you man was very helpful. Gave it 1star because 0 wasn't an option!!!
