I don’t pretend to be political; some may even say I’m borderline dangerously uninformed. Fine. But I consider myself a moderate with strong fiscal conservative tendencies. And I struggled with who to vote for this Election. I stared at the ballot for 5 minutes. I ended up voting conservatively but I held no faith in the success of that vote when I submitted it.
Here are things I believe the Republican Party must do in the next four years in no order of importance or priority and with no offense to those more conservative to me or to those more liberal than me:
1. The Tea Party started off as a great spark, When it kicked off after the trillions spent on bailouts I was intrigued and excited. But by the time mainstream Republican Party embraced them, they were off their rockers. The group went from Taxed Enough Already to Obama is a secret Muslim, and the rise of birthers and other cuckoos. That is too far RIGHT to win in my honest opinion. They are not the group of reform to win this Country over.

2. There are more than White people in this country Republicans. You knew this. Whites are also a shrinking group, it’s majority will only shrink in the future. There is a huge gap in the Hispanic and Black voting public with Democrats and Republicans. Fix it.

3. It’s the Economy stupid, nothing else matters. Republicans tried to talk about this, but got sidetracked with issues of “Legitimate Rape” and whether or not Gay people should marry.

4. I believe Obama Care is too expensive for this country. There has got to be trillions in liability in healthcare coming in the future. Trillions. The top 10 wealthiest people in the Country are worth a couple hundred Billion. What are we going to do? Tax the rich? That won’t work.

5. If one voted against Romney/Ryan due to Welfare reform voucher plans, here’s the deal. It’s broke, even the Democrats will have to try to fix it soon the well is dry very soon.

6. Do you know what happens when Gay people marry? Economy gets better. Weddings are expensive and provide sales revenue to an industry that employs lots of jobs. This is one of the things Ultra Conservatives are missing the point on in my honest opinion.

7. I am Pro Life, Maddie and I would have our hardest fight ever if we were ever in a position to choose an abortion or not. My position is pretty firm because I’m also adopted, I believe that is the choice to take if one does not want the child. When I get into PRO Life and Pro Choice debates with my friends they never convince me that I’m wrong. But here’s the thing, being Pro Life as a singular person that is my CHOICE. Therefore I am PRO CHOICE when it comes to what a woman does to her own body, this issue should not be a fight for Federal Government. This is one of the things Ultra Conservatives are missing the point on in my honest opinion.

8. I believe Obama will likely have the opportunity to nominate a Supreme Court justice or 2 in the next four years. I think that is probably good. It will allow for a relatively middle Supreme Court. I think that’s wise.

9. Obama can no longer inherit anything from Bush. I think that’s good for the Republican party in 4 years.

10. If you are the head of the Republican party secret war room strategists, you have to realize that having a nominee that lost the previous election’s nomination to someone who lost to Obama was a mistake. Trust me. Romney lost the election to millions the day he was nominated because they all had this thought “How does someone who could not even get nominated in 2008 beat Obama in 2012”. I get that he won the nomination playing up to the ultra-conservative. But like I said, there is not enough of you out there.

11. I hope that the conservative leaders who abstained from running in 2012 provide the spark this party needs in 4 years.

12. I hope the Republican run House of Representatives can find some means of working with the Democrats on issues of importance. I hope status quo isn’t just status quo for 2 more years.

13. I do not believe we'll be in dire straights in 4 years, but we certainly won't be thriving. I think we are at the start of a long hard knock life as a country. But Americans are resilient. We'll be ok.

The average Memphis consumer has more student loan and auto loan debt than the national average, but fares better in other debt categories. Only in terms of average credit score — 637 versus 661 nationally — would the Memphis consumer be particularly notable, since 637 is among the lowest average, according to the October Credit Climate Report by consumer credit advocate Credit Karma. Among the most in line with the national average was auto lo...

Shelby County homebuilders filed permits in October to build 107 new homes, a marked improvement from last year. Memphis Daily News reports the 107 permits is 91 percent higher than the 56 filed in October 2010. But the majority of the permits filed last month can be attributed to Devere Construction Co. Inc., which filed 67 permits for the Windsor View subdivision in Westwood's 38109 zip code. Devere's plans aside, the county only had 40 filin...

I got a new credit card recently, serviced through a major bank that is unpopular at the moment. The bank's website lets me schedule an automatic electronic payment of the minimum monthly amount due. That's convenient, right? Nice feature. But from that point, things get evil quickly. The bank's site doesn't allow me to schedule an automatic monthly payment of the entire balance. If I could conveniently pay the entire balance every month, it woul...

Dear Google. How about we integrate Google + with Reader both ways. We should be able to designate a Circle from Google + that we can subscribe to in Reader. That's how you replace Buzz. Not just sending us to Google + to read our friends posts.
