Even thou this place is great. Awesome music and amazing people(the ones that go to eat). The only issue is the OLD EVIL WITCH LADY THAT CALL HERSELF MANAGER. She is the worse. Rude to everyone, specially the workers. This place would soon go out of business if that witch still there. She need to go back to school and educate herself on how to be a manager.

SUPER Over priced. I really don't understand the reason why everything is so expensive in that place. You can literally get the same amount of food for only 5 dollars in other places in the area. Looks can be deceiving. Its Dominican food for heavens sake.

To say that i had a bad experience is only the beginning. The night was a disaster. Called at 1:30pm to make a reservation for 8 hours later only to then arrive and have to wait 25 minutes for them to set up a table! Having empty tables available it seemed the dilemma at hand was that another reservation, that arrived 45 minutes after we sat down need the chairs.... #really. No water offered blender was broken and food was cold! I wanted to share this so that someone can get their lives together because this was the first time i had ver gone there and hearing soo many good things to only have it spoiled because the runners were being insubordinate and waitress was too shy to speak up for her customers is unfair. The fact that i could see the breaks in communication that made not one but two people get up and leave on a friday night is sad for a restaurant that clearly haD so much potential and buzz. Lets pray this was a one time anomaly!

I've been here a few times and will be coming a lot more in the near future. On a recent trip to check out the great sangria other people keep writing about, my roommate and I discovered a sweet slice of sangria heaven. Yum yum. It's tasty and strong, which is exactly what you want from the stuff. Had a little food, too, which was also tasty. Prices aren't too bad. I'd only been here once before on a hookah night and found the hookah experience somewhat lacking, but I was alone at the time. I'll have to give it another shot.

It's been a few years since my last visit, but a recent dinner at Mamajuana Cafe did not impress. My skirt steak was overcooked. I was assured it would be pink in the middle, it was not. The garlic fries didn't taste particularly garlicy. The desserts (we ordered three) had the consistency of hockey pucks. It took two of us to slice through the bread pudding. Service was slow and not very attentive. I had to remind the bus boy and the waiter twice that one of the coffees had not been brought out with the dessert plates.

The food was good but not memorable in a dark and very noisy atmosphere. Decor was authentic and would have been fun if it wasn't so crowded and...yes noisy! Service was slow and impersonal. When a mistake was made the server acted like she was annoyed that she had to make a change. Good food for the Inwood neighborhood, but I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here!
