Honestly I don't see the hype if any... it's just an old landmark. . Food is not all that and there menu is small... I was expecting more... very disappointed. . But I could say been there! Done that!!! And fyi. Too pricy...

Lucy's is the favoured spot where ground-breaking director Curtis Harrington had his last margharita - on the night on which he died in 2007. Some days later he was laid to rest at what is now called Forever Hollywood, up just beyond Paramount, after a scandal-ridden funeral service. Curtis returned again and again to Lucy's because of the predictably good basic cuisine, the floor staff, the margharitas.

After having countless meals at Lucy's I have never had a bad experience and have always been extremely satisfied. Some of the best chips and salsa in Los Angeles as well as one of the best margaritas. The only other restaurant that comes to mind when thinking about a chips and salsa rival is, Gilbert's el Indio. Lucy's food is a bit pricey but it's well worth it. This place will be on my frequent visit list as long as they exist.

I had dinner there last night and I am still nauseous. I have nothing good to say about this restaurant. The chips were stale, the guacamole pasty and tasteless, the beef tacitos were tough and dry. And then the prices are outrageous. The decor is tired and kitchy. Avoid this joint like the plague!

This place is a huge failure every time I visit. Which sucks because I live right next door. All I require from a Mexican joint is that you get one of these things right: Drinks, Chips, or Food. El Adobe lacks in all three.
