I am happy to be able to announce that this fall I will begin a tenure-track appointment as an Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta School of Library and Information Studies. I’ll be moving to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (and learning to live and play in the snow and cold!) the last week of August.

The collaborative and collegial nature of the Alberta SLIS faculty and their vision and mission to develop reflective and inquiring library and information leaders that connect and partner with the communities they serve, spanning across boundaries, was a big draw. I’m enthused to contribute to that mission; to educate future LIS leaders; and to work with those at SLIS, the U of A, and elsewhere in furthering our understanding of ICTs, information behavior, and information-centric communities in socially constructed contexts.
