When was the last time you had your alignment, tires, and tire pressures checked? The Alignment of your wheels are part of regular Vehicle Maintenance that consists of adjusting the steering angles of the wheels. We suggest having your alignment adjusted at least once a year. Specifications for Toe, Camber, Caster and Overall Thrust are all important to your vehicle. Not having the correct Alignment Specification and Tire Pressures set on your Vehicle can lead to poor handling and uneven premature tire wear adding to the overall cost of maintaining a vehicle. If you can't remember the last time you had any of these things checked Give us a call here at "A&H Automotive" in "Delray Beach" we would be happy to help.

When buying a new car or even a used one most people think about the cost to purchase the vehicle but don't really think beyond that to how much it will cost to maintain it. It was also found that even within a certain brand name, some models were more expensive to maintain than others. Repairs and maintenance depending on the vehicle's manufacturer can become pretty costly overtime. Below are some average estimates of maintenance costs for a 10 year period. Something to think about when purchasing your next Vehicle.

South Florida is Hot through the majority of the year and here at "A&H Automotive" we have had several questions asking "How long does the typical car battery last" and "How to prolong the life of your battery". So here are some tips to help maintain your battery and get as use from it as possible.
1. Keeping the top of the battery clean is important. Dirt and engine grease can build up and when they do they serve as a conductor which drains battery power.
2. Also look for corrosion accumulating on battery terminals. The corrosion serves as an insulator that reduces current flow.
3. Your driving habits can also contribute to shorter battery life. Frequent engine on/off cycles will cause more of a drain on the battery than longer trips will.

This is why changing your oil regularly at specific service intervals is so important.
Regular oil changes can help keep damaging sludge from piling up in your engine. As oil ages, it absorbs water, dust, and dirt particles to help protect your engine. Eventually, though, the oil breaks down and can become so full of gunk that it can’t absorb any more. When oil becomes the consistency of “sludge,” it can cause corrosion and decrease the life of your engine.

If you Have a "Honda" or "Acura" that needs an oil service in the "Delray Beach" area give us a call here at "A&H Automotive" we would love to service your vehicle and keep it on the road for a long life.

"When is my timing belt due to be changed" and "What happens if I don't replace my timing belt? Most manufacturers recommend replacing the timing belt anywhere from 60,000 to 100,000 miles. Its a good idea to always consult your owners manual to see what your Vehicle Manufacturer recommends. The "Timing Belt" is an integral part of your engine and, if it fails, so does your engine, causing your car to shut down. As you can see in this picture the pink part is actually coolant that is coming from the water pump its also a good idea to replace the "water pump" while everything is apart.

Subaru is the only car manufacturer that offers a symmetrical all wheel drive system in every vehicle that is sold in the US (minus the BRZ model). This symmetry is incredibly efficient and provides power to all four wheels all the time for maximum traction, balance and control. A customer came in to address a clunking noise on her "Honda" after recently having a big box automotive shop replace her front struts. After a test drive to verify the concern we raised the vehicle and found that the strut mounting bolts going through the knuckle had been left loose and the nuts for the strut mount were still taped to the strut. This is why we recommend not always shopping for the best deal but finding a shop with a reputation for quality work along with quality parts who are trustworthy. If you don't have a home shop for your vehicle be sure to come check us out here at "A&H Automotive" in "Delray Beach" we would be happy to help you.

This is a timing chain it is made of metal, similar to a bicycle chain. A timing chain runs inside the engine, as it needs to be lubricated by the engine oil. A timing chain typically doesn’t need to be replaced unless there is a problem with it. Does that mean that timing chains don't have mechanical failures? The answer is No, timing chain problems are not uncommon, especially in high-mileage vehicles. Lack of oil changes, low oil level or poor oil quality can cause the timing chain to wear faster. So PROPER MAINTENANCE is key. If you have any questions or concerns we would be glad to help you here at "A&H Automotive" in "Delray Beach"
