The Color 5 Mile race series advertises events in 100 cities and promises that runners will get to “blast each other from head to toe in thousands of color combinations.” The race series also appears to be a huge scam, according to the Better Business Bureau. For a second year, the BBB will issue a national warning against fake themed-races, spurred by a wave of recent complaints against the Color 5 Mile event.

I am on the BBB as an accredited business. My review though is from the consumer end. I filled a complaint with the BBB back in March over a horrible experience with sprint. I went through all of the proper channels as the BBB instructed me to. I heard back from Sprint and I did not accept there offer and that was the end of that. So when the BBB doesn't do what they say there going to do..... who do you complain to then? So I stopped paying on my bill to the business side of the BBB and they hounded me for there money. I did not realize i was under contract. so I paid up and I am just biding my time until I can be done with them. I do not want to be represented by a company that will not do what they said they would do. When my contract is up I will not renew. The person I spoke with said she would handle it but yet nothing has changed. I also realize I am a rare case because everyone else has giving the BBB 5 stars. So the BB writes me a letter with the explanation that it can't be resolved. I call that Bull Crap. they advise me to call an attorney over $200.00 way to sweep it under the rug below is the letter I received from the BBB Dear Kevin Gwyn : This message is in regard to your complaint submitted on 3/5/2015 10:26:12 PM against Sprint PCS . Your complaint was assigned ID 10516772. The BBB, in reviewing the complaint that you submitted to us about Sprint PCS , has closed the case. We strive to assist businesses and consumers to resolve their differences voluntarily outside of the legal arena. More than 85% of all our complaints are happily resolved, but unfortunately not all complaints get resolved to the consumers satisfaction, as it appears to be the case with your complaint. The general nature of your complaint and the firm’s response will be made part of our file information for the next 3 years, which will allow the Bureau to monitor the company’s complaint activities, in case a pattern of complaints should develop. If you wish to further pursue the issue, you might contact a legal advisor or the Attorney General's office. Amazing. The offending company wouldn't call me back, answer emails, and was never logged into their chat on their web site. Completely stonewalled me for weeks. BBB got involved and the company immediately made it right. I only wish I would have contacted the BBB sooner.

I have struggled with a company for over a year to get a refund for a defective and counterfeit product. I was completely stonewalled by customer "service". I was lied to and then ignored. I tried complaining and getting the charge refunded through my credit card. Nothing worked. I was angry and frustrated. I contacted the BBB in Fort Worth, TX. The representative asked the right questions and led me to get the necessary proof the article was counterfeit. Within a couple of weeks I had an apology from the company and a complete refund. The BBB succeeded, and quickly, where every other avenue failed, and I am very grateful for their help.

I LOVE the BBB! They are here to help consumers when businesses fail to live up to their terms. I had a conflict with Travelocity and tried to reach out to them on at least 8 ocassions, with no success. I tried all mediums including calling in twice (each call lasted over an hour with hold time), twitter, facebook, email, etc. I felt as if I had maxed out all resources and received no response in regards to their travelocity price gaurantee. This guarantee was posted to their website but getting a hold of someone to resolve the issue was impossible. BBB immediately took action and Travelocity FINALLY responded to my claim. Thank you BBB!

Lon Smith Roofing Company. I could not be any happier with Lon Smith Roofing. My house is 8 years old and the seals from the exhaust pipes were worn. A leak developed from all the rain we had in May. Lon Smith came out and made the repairs and added 2 more turbines so the attic would be cooler. Thanks again Lon Smith Roofing.

Fantastic! The BBB helped me get a refund that was promised to me in less than a week when I have been stuggling with the company for over a month. I had no idea how great they are! I will tell anyone that needs assitance that the BBB is definitely the place to get help! :)
