Epping Ongar Railway has teamed up with Harlow Council to run a special vintage bus service number 396. This special service will use the iconic red and green heritage London buses three days a week from Harlow bus station starting from 4th August 2012 for a trial period until 1st September 2012.

Following the resumption of regular passenger services, Epping Ongar Railway has announced a further important milestone has been reached in its goal of running passenger services to connect with London Underground at Epping.

From Saturday 21st July, regular passenger services were extended, and will now be travelling into the Epping Town ward its self, stopping only 1000m from the end of Epping station platforms. While previously only used by engineering trains, this is the first time since 1994 that regular passenger trains have passed along this stretch of the line.

Epping Ongar Railway unveiled its latest COMBINED bus, tube car and train at the Ongar Carnival!

The vehicle is called “SUPERCAR” and was unveiled in January 1991 by London Transport. SUPERCAR appeared in TV adverts, promotional and press days to promote the “One Day Travelcard” (formally called the Capitalcard)!

Supercar will be out and about this summer, attending a number of functions and making some surprise appearances… so keep your eyes peeled and cameras ready… next week Supercar will be at the Bus Rally on 1st July at North Weald airfield, when there will also be a special shuttle bus linking the railway and Bus Rally, details from the timetables page on our website.

It's a SMALL ENGINE SPECIAL at EOR this coming weekend..  and Epping Ongar Railway offers an ideal way for residents of Epping, North Weald and further afield to travel to Ongar to join in the Carnival party atmosphere!

Isabel will be hauling her first passenger trains on the branch on 23-24th June, with 03119 (also the first outing for this locomotive on passenger services) working the North Weald to Coopersale shuttle.

There are two special reasons to visit Epping Ongar Railway this weekend (16-17th June). These are the final two dates that Pannier 6430 will be in operation on the branch, so a LAST CHANCE to travel behind her on former LU metals, on the longest heritage railway in Essex.

Victory to EOR! On the first day that regular steam hauled passenger resumed on the branch after an absence of 55 years, the branch welcomed its 4th steam locomotive to the scenic Essex line, named “Victory”. Read more on our website!
