A lot of public services in Sweden somehow is connected to the domain funktionstjanster.se - when you register a company or use municipality services, that domain is involved in the transaction regardless of the domain you want to communicate with. There's no available information about this domain other that a whois reveals that it is owned by CGI Sverige AB - a company not known outside IT community in Sweden, certainly not by the public. The whois email address goes to wm.net - a non-swedish domain name related to a company that was aquired by CGI. This doesn't help.

Google for "funktionstjanster.se" and you don't get any reasonable information. This usage is in my view clearly a violation of the trust chain - not the technichal one, but for the user. If someone wants to report child abuse or register a company or something else quite serious - they need to be able to trust whatever shows up in their browser and this is a domain with no explanation whatsover on the net. Just assuming we should trust anything is bad. Training the user to ignore all kinds of strange domains used is bad and just opens up for misuse.

This needs to stop. We need a best current practise.

I often get the question "Why is Kamailio so different?" from FreeSwitch and Asterisk users. This presentation tries to answer that question (most of it applies to OpenSIPS as well).

All SIP implementations, even the IPv4-only applications, will be affected by the migration to IPv6. Make sure you read this document and as a user, test your implementations and as a developer, fix potential issues early.
This report is the result of work in the SIP Forum IPv6 working group, which I co-chair.

The SIP Forum has published a document on IPv6 impacts on IPv4-only SIP implementations. Good reading for all SIP developers!
