Aruba has some great beer from the Netherlands that never makes it out to the states, such as the brews from Hertog Jan.

Karakter has a beautiful dark orange color with a great head. The aroma is clearly malty, evocative of caramel and biscuit cookies. The taste mirrors the aroma, overlaying some hop bitterness and a slight alcohol bite over the caramel and biscuit.

Karakter makes me think of an imperial Octoberfest. It pairs great with the smoky bbq or Jamaican Jerk ribs on the island, or with our "Aruban" sandwiches featuring various bacon-like meats.

+Dell just lost a loyal customer with terrible consumer customer service. My egift card that states "Available funds do not expire" had apparently expired, despite there being no mention of it in the Terms & Conditions linked from the gift card. Oh, it says they expire in some other T&C document that you emailed me after 2 hours on the phone? Nevermind that it says "Available funds do not expire" right on the egift card page?

I used to recommend Dell for their customer service, and this was going to be the first of multiple monitor orders. But then I spent 2.5 hours of on the phone getting increasingly angry as I was bounced back and forth between departments. One rep even told me to forward my emails to Dell and call Dell back in an hour! Since when do customers have to call the company back? And the email address she gave me bounced!

And over what, a $75 gift card that expired 2 weeks ago? Good customer service would have been the very 1st rep saying "We're sorry for the confusion, sir. We'll credit your order. Anythinge else I could do for you?" That would have resulted in great word of mouth advertising. Instead, you just lost a loyal business customer.

+Michael Dell I know you only really care about your big enterprise clients, but poor consumer service is losing your company small and medium business clients as well as consumers. I can no longer recommend Dell to my friends and family, and my medium business will be looking at HP for our storage and virtualization needs and desktop refresh.
