First off their wait staff is great! Their bartenders, horrible! Their mojitos are $10, they couldn’t get the consistency right on a simple drink…and they seemed to blame me for not liking it. A typical mojito should have only a splash of club soda. This was 8 ounces of club soda on a 2 ounce mojito mix…needless to say it was terrible. Perhaps they should hire people that actually know how to make drinks if they’re going to charge so much. Their tipsy turle was slightly better but again their ratios were all off and it tasted like a slightly spiked caprisun. On to the food… The cheese fondue: Cheap. They use something similar to Kraft cheese (cheap cheddar). A cheap beer, the waiter admitted it was Coors Light. (They claim you can’t use a better beer…all of Colorado disagrees) Moderately good dippers, breads, apples. Those were all good, cheap and store bought it tasted like. The salads: My Fiancée had the California and she liked it, I had some and it was pretty tasty. Their ceasar salad was pretty sad, it was leaf lettuce with some cheese on top. Terrible. The main course: Not bad, the choices of meat were fairly high quality and included duck and shrimp as well as some mediocre steak. The broth was wine based and pretty good. (I can’t recall the cooking style we chose…it was French sounding). The chocolate (also read as the reason people even come): WORST. CHOCOLATE. EVER. The dark chocolate was said to be just chocolate wafers but when chocolate comes out in liquid form at room temperature then there is something else in there. An oil or something. It tasted worse than the no-name brand chocolate chips you buy at the store that you forgot and left in your pantry for too long. Herseys tastes better! Anything tastes better. Conclusion: STAY AT HOME and use a crocpot, you’ll make better food just buying ingredients from King Soopers.
